Missing In-J, that is. (Best viewed large.)
(I wanted to find a photo that I hadn't posted, yet one that In-J would like -- maybe she would say, "madness dude" -- and yet convey the hole she left. Flickr is a smaller place without her.)

Comical Ned (with the funny shaped head) is trying to entice Farmer George and Hubert (the conversational Latin speaking horse) over for a lunchtime pint at the Jolly Farmer in the distance. But George is a busy man, as are all farmers and is not sure he has the time, for he needs to find a possible broken fence after some of his sheep were found propping up the bar in The Railway Hotel in Culmstock last night.
Driver Arthritic Arthur cries from the passing train to say that local creamery worker Deidre Dinkle, the flirty darling of the butter blending department is in the pub playing toad in the hole (quite how Arthur knows what the conversation is, I have no idea, but Arthur knows everybody and everything).
George has had a crush on Deidre for ages, and this might be a chance for him to finally ask her out for a ride on his brand new combine harvester. He might also find a couple more of his missing sheep, which means he can justify it as work whilst also satisfying his ongoing lust for love.
When I can, I bike the two miles into work from where I live on the mountainside, mostly downhill. What a strange, cold time it is to be biking this late in the year. When it comes to keeping warm, it's all about body temperature. You can go from zero to sweaty in sixty seconds. I passed a flag man with a Slow/Stop sign on my way into town. He turned it to Slow just as I was approaching and I shouted out as I zoomed by, "I'm not fast enough to be slow!"
There are times I feel that way, though my manic behavior and relentless conversation might seem to suggest otherwise. But the truth is, I spend a lot of time alone, a lot of long quiet nights and aimless wanderings through the countryside. I spend the last few hours of every night missing my wife, and the next hour or so before sleeping talking to her on the phone. You see, she's going to school in Chicago, so that she can work in a hospital and tell you what your unborn baby looks like (among other things). We won't be living together in what many people would consider "soon", but that doesn't bother me. What's important to me, more than anything else, is that she can do what she loves, like I do what I love.
I love to dream about her, but that doesn't happen often. My subconscious has other, stranger ideas, which I often turn into short stories that may or may not have a point. But if they do have a point (and I mean like an arrowhead or a spear) then it must be to drive me screaming into revelation, the honesty of self that hurts so much. I'm more honest now than I've ever been, but, oh, I'm dragging some shadows. People with darker insides might deny that, but denial won't get me or them any closer to the truth. That's what it's all about, the words, the images, the reason to wake up. I hope you're all feeling a little more awake these days.

May we all love ourselves and one another. God bless.

Skylar is in New York visiting his grandparents and I miss him!! While clearing out my archives from this past year I came across this photo of him and wanted to post it as a tribute. Having a kid who is into road tripping and hiking and doing photography is just a joy I can't describe. I couldn't have imagined a better sidekick. ♥

WE had a flickrmeet at bagan Lalang, Sepang a beach near acres of palm oil estates - lovely place with an amazing sunset - despite all the battery problems I was having I got some amazing shots ;)
Ah, summer seems so far away. Pictures like this bring back great memories of good times with good friends.

So I know this is sort of a cliche type of shot to do, but I didn't have one yet, and I did like how this came out. Hope you enjoy. Taken back in October in western MA.
Spotted this little guy in Carnie Woods today but didn't notice he had a missing paw until I uploaded the photo.

It has been three years since our dear friend Garnite (Jim Dubois) lost his valiant battle with lung dysfunction. He was a special presence here on Flickr, always quick to compliment and share and especially to make us groan at his puns. We old-timers still hold him dear to our hearts.
Zoe Bear and I are doing well.
