Hi everyone! I'm so sorry I haven't posted new pics of Dylan:( I've been so busy that I totally forgot!! Dylan is now 1 year old, 13 months to be exact, and is walking and trying to run, and it is a WORK trying to chase this little mischievous little boy!
But one thing remains as always, he is still a happy, smiling boy, and is flirting with every girl whom he sees!
He is growing every day and he finally outgrew the old one and it is now time for the big seat! Forward facing and he loves it:) Boy do they grow so fast, too fast!
oh, and 4 teeth out!
More pics to come!:)
Hugs,
Serene
This was the last day of school, June 3, 2008, and Ana and I went to Michael's house. Ana left to visit her friend, and Michael and I were home alone. Numerous hours later, Ana was lost so we had to find her - in the pouring rain. We took our time, and took some pictures. Fun, fun day.
Thanks to Marvel comics, films and TV shows, everyone knows about the Norse god Loki. This likeness is one of four on display on the stave church in Epcot's Norway pavilion.
This is what the informational sign has to say about him: The clever Loki was a masterful trickster who delighted in creating chaos all around him. As the son of a giantess, Loki had mixed family loyalties. For this reason, the gods, giants and other creatures were never quite sure if they could trust him. Often, Loki's jokes and games would go too far, and he would eventually anger the god and goddesses. The name Loki is similar to the Old Norse word for flame. Like fire, Loki could be both good and bad.

Trying to make some good use of my 135mm Berolina Westromat, which is stuck wide open, at f:3.5. That is problematic when shooting in broad sunlight, but proves good for portraits, as in this one I took of my son Pedro, while he was trying to hide from me!

My son found this stick on the way home from school. It looked like it could make a great sling shot. He carried that stick around for over a week! I think he still has it up in his bedroom somewhere.
It's funny how the simplest things can bring such joy!

Claire looked up to see her father standing just inside the doorway, his face pulled in a ridiculous grin. His stance reminded her of one that a five year old would take when playing superheroes. His hands were at his waist, one thumb hooked under the claw of a hammer, his legs braced far apart. Colton stood, a mirror image of Braedenās stance, just slightly behind him. Sheād never noticed the difference in their heights until now, noting how Colton stood almost a full four inches taller than her father.
There was a moment of silence from the crowd in the kitchen while all three girls took in the sight of the men. Braedenās expression looked like he was barely able to contain himself.
āMen are here,ā he boomed in a deep growl, mimicking the voice of a cave man. He thumped his fist to his chest and Colton copied.
The girls were speechless, all staring at each other with wide eyes of surprise. Braeden practically giggled.
āWe bring wood,ā he said in his cave man voice, sauntering into the kitchen, with Colton right behind him.
āAnd plexi-glass,ā Colton pointed out. His voice was falsely low as well, using the same accent Braeden had chosen.
āAnd plexi-glass,ā echoed Braeden, who stumped into the kitchen towards Brittany and he waggled his eyebrows mischievously. āTo build hot-house for my woman.ā
Brittany giggled. āThe āhot-houseā has already been built,ā she pointed out.
āTo repair hot-house for my woman,ā he amended quickly.

In start contrast to her Well behaved friend this little girl was full of energy. Her and the third girl were wresting about on the bench/seat at the cafe. Her friend was tackling her over and over and she would giggle and struggle while they pushed each other around. It was fun to watch but a bit challenging to shoot. So I kneeled patiently and waited for a break in the mischief.
When she noticed I was there I asked her if she would mind if I took her picture. She hid. But it wasn't long before she emerged and sat there looking at me for a few seconds. I had time to fire off a few snaps before she was once again under attack. I'd have liked to photograph her antagonist but she was far too full of energy to sit still for a photo. So I thanked the whole group (not that the kids were listening) and went back to sit with my mates.
I'm approaching the end of my 100 strangers. I began on November 30th and I will post my 100th stranger on March 9th. A few people have expressed interest in getting a copy of my project as a book so I'll be putting one together. It will contain both photos and the descriptions I've written alongside them, so it should be about 200 pages. If anyone out there would like a copy I'm happy to organise one for them. I'll charge whatever it costs me to get it done, which looks like it'll be about $80AUD including shipping. Let me know if you're interested by leaving a comment or sending me some flickr mail.
This is the ninety sixth portrait of my attempt at the 100 strangers project.
