Colas Rail Freight 70816 rounds the curve at Dandry Mire viaduct, on the approach to Garsdale station, working the 6J37 12.58 Carlisle Yard to Chirk timber on a very warm Thursday 22nd July 2021. The temporary speed restriction of 20 mph allowed a slower shutter speed than would normally have been contemplated.

Polmadie - the Malls Mire path crosses the (now completely culverted) Malls Mire Burn at this point.... I fell into the burn near this point when I was three years of age and nearly drowned !

In 2004, two boys went missing. According to reports, they vanished into the swamp without a trace. A few weeks ago, reports poured in of strange lights and sounds over the Green Mire swamp. The gullible think UFO's, but the skeptics are still looking for answers. It's up to you to figure out what to believe, in a dangerous place where nothing is quite as it seems. Follow the path, wherever it may lead. The truth is out there.

Abandoned Boathouse on the edge of Mire Loch. A man-made lake close to St Abbs. How lucky was I that a heron landed on the boathouse just seconds before I took the shot and then flew off just a few seconds later
a shot of the stunning display of Bluebells at Emsworthy Mire on Dartmoor, I have been here on 6 previous occasions and this is the best display that I have witnessed, my previous attempts have been in the evening but this time I made the effort go early in the morning and I personally think that the light hitting the front of the barn adds to the shot.
Another wet day on the Settle-Carlisle line, but very warm and humid. 35018 'British India Line' crosses Dandry Mire viaduct in the rain on Tuesday 27th July 2021, heading the 1Z54 15:24 Carlisle to Lancaster 'Pendle Dalesman'.
