This bundle of mint is Chocolate mint.
It started out as a failed plant that was dying in the pot.
Thinking it was dead it made it's way behind the house where it took root and has been going like mad ever since.
Here is our Minty boy with his Mum Humbug. He was a single so is a good sized lamb ! He looks like his Dad, Womble.
Nice side dish to some ground lamb kabobs. Recipe inspired from here but a few tweaks. Kolhrabi to carrot ratio closer to 1:1, added 3 cloves of minced garlic and substituted carraway seeds (1 tsp) for the dill and aaded a little cream, 2 TB. Also added 4 sprigs of mint while boiling the kolhrabi and carrots, then discard and added fresh chiffonade mint at the end.

I tried my first mint julep on Valentine's Day at Solea. It basically tastes like a mojito, but with bourbon! Yummy!
This is really a chocolate sugar cookie with mint chips added! Nice easy recipe and super yummy good!
Mint Brownie Cookes
1/2 cup Butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 TBLSP (or so) cream
1-1/4 cups flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/3 cup cocoa
Cream butter until light and fluffy. Beat in sugar. Add egg and vanilla, then beat thoroughly. Add cream. Sift together dry indredients and mix with butter portion, adding more cream if too dry looking. Add mint chips. Arrange by teaspoonfuls on a buttered or parchment paper lined cookie sheet about 1 inch apart. Bake about 8-9 minutes in a 325 oven.
Mint green glass ovals are caressed by brass petals and topped with a Swarovski crystal. Suspended from brass hooks.

My dad had recently started getting into coin-collecting and wanted to get some coin sets at the mint, but they weren't open at all on Saturday. As it turned out, we stopped at the mint on our way back home and my dad went in, but they really didn't sell what he wanted anyway!
I had mint buttercream leftover from a cake and I didn't want to throw out yet another batch. So I made cookies!
And I rolled one in chocolate shavings for good measure.
Homemade mint sauce tastes far superior and is quite simple to make – The perfect accompaniment to lamb or mutton!
Mint Jelly:
Mint Jelly
with liquid pectin
* 1-¾ cups mint juice (1½ cups firmly packed fresh mint and 2¼ cups water)
* 3-½ cups sugar
* 2 tablespoons lemon juice
* 1 pouch liquid pectin (3 oz.)
Yield: About 3 or 4 half-pint jars
Please read Using Boiling Water Canners before beginning. If this is your first time canning, it is recommended that you read Principles of Home Canning.
Procedure: Sterilize canning jars and prepare two-piece canning lids according to manufacturer's directions.
To prepare juice. Wash mint, crush leaves and stems or finely chop. Place in saucepan, add water and bring quickly to a boil. Remove from heat, cover and let stand 10 minutes. (A few drops of green food coloring can be added if desired.) Strain to remove mint. Discard mint.
To make jelly. Measure 1-¾ cups mint juice into a large saucepot. Stir in the sugar and lemon juice. Place on high heat, stir constantly and bring to a full boil that cannot be stirred down. Add the liquid pectin and heat again to a full rolling boil. Boil hard for 1 minute. Remove from heat; quickly skim off foam.
Pour hot jelly immediately into hot, sterile jars, leaving ¼ inch headspace. Wipe rims of jars with a dampened clean paper towel; adjust two-piece metal canning lids. Process in a Boiling Water Canner.

This is the corner at the Mint and Amstel. Quite a bustling place that all tourists that visit Amsterdam will get to see. The Munt is from 1620 and was called the Munt, when in 1672 Amsterdam had the sole right to make new coins.
If you follow the long pole, just right of the centre, you'll get to central station, to catch a train to other parts in the Netherlands.
