I wanted to have her pierced next so I just did it.
I thinkI admire how she looks with the earrings. I must be pretty nuts because, I never saw a PKF pierced before o_O;; ..
It was also tricky to pierce her when it is only a face plate. Hard to make the angle correct !
Mint is all about having hot cocoa, cookies and watching TV series. I still haven't managed to get her out for a walk!
(In case you were wondering: Yes, she is an Hola gominola custom!)
This pure silver Kookaburra coin is produced by Australia's Perth Mint and is part of a yearly series of coins featuring Kookaburras. The series started in 1990.
They are all very well done. When I started collecting the series, I could buy 1 oz silver Kooks for around $10. They are more now.
Each Kentucky Derby, I make non-alcoholic mint juleps. I only add a tiny bit of crème de menthe and its alcohol is taken care of on the stove. I accidently purchased the green crème de menthe and I'm still using the same bottle. Each year I have the greenest juleps around.
Mint leaves grow in pairs, each successive pair at 90 degrees to the one below. This plant, however, has leaves in threes, each trio offset from the one below by 60 degrees. Its neighbours in the garden bed are all normal mint plants with their leaves in pairs.
Mint Blythe I drew. I made her up! She is from Mew Mew Power and Tokyo Mew Mew! Her animal is an UltraMarine Lorikeet and she comes with wings and tail!

Time for some holiday foodie shots! This week, I'm baking/cooking several special recipes for gifts or holiday get-togethers. Since I joined a recipe group, I thought I'd photograph them to share. Happy cooking & eating! This is a new recipe to me, found in a newspaper holiday cookie supplement. If you have trouble finding mint chips, I suspect that dark chocolate chips would be dandy, too! Color red if you prefer.
Mint Chip Cookies
3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/4 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/4 tsp. mint extract
1 c. chocolate chips
1 c. mint chips
2-3 drops green food coloring
Add butter & sugar to bowl & cream until light & fluffy. Add eggs & mix again. Add vanilla & mint extracts & food coloring & mix again, until light & fluffy. Sift together flour, baking powder, & salt. Add, in thirds, mixing well on low speed, until combined. By hand, mix in chocolate & mint chips. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto lightly buttered baking sheets & bake at 375 F. for 10-14 minutes, until lightly browned. Makes approximately four dozen cookies. I made non-alcoholic mint juleps for the Kentucky Derby. It is the same recipe that they use at Disney's Port Orleans. Theirs might not be this green, however, since I purchased a particularly green brand of Crème de menthe. It still tastes good though.

An Austin Seven, decked out in Uncle Joe's Mint Balls livery. The Longbridge-built vehicle belongs to a member of the Cornwall Austin Seven Club and is pictured in the Snowdonia National Park car park at Llangower. Club members, and their Austins, were holidaying near Dolgellau. Uncle Joe's Mint Balls were first produced in 1898 by Ellen Santus from the kitchen of her small terraced home in Wigan. The recipe remains a closely-guarded secret of the Santus family, whose confectionary is still made in the town. The firm's slogan is 'Making Sweets to Make Life Sweeter'.
