I didn't have a telephoto lens and I found a used one on eBay, from a Japanese seller. A Canon New FD 300mm f/4 (None-L) from the early 80s. It's mint and here is a sample of my first tests. I used my Sony A7II (24 Mpx) instead of my A7IV (61 Mpx). For $300 including customs and shipping, I think it's an excellent deal! 10 times cheaper than a Sony 300 mmf/4 but not ten times worse! 😁

Mint, the color, not the condition of this old Chrysler Windsor Deluxe I found sitting along the street in a nearby town when I was out for a drive this afternoon. The best I can tell, this one if from the early 50's.

Thankfully we still have some flowers blooming at this time of year, this little mint moth was out enjoying todays sunshine in the garden. I do hope you are all well. ;0)

Mint moths have purple forewings with one, two or three yellow spots across the middle.
The underwings are almost black with a yellow band running across them.
Mint moths are becoming quite common now, especially in gardens where mint is grown. They generally fly during the daytime, but will also fly towards light at night.
My very first spot of one of these lovely little moths!
I had gone into the garden to snip some Rosemary for a Focaccia I was making for tea - Rosemary and Olive and spotted this one on the Rosemary. I charged indoors for my camera, came back out and it was gone. Anyway, thought I'd see if it had found the Catmint and yay it had! It then flew onto a lavender plant next to the Catmint and I was able to get this shot there!
I was so delighted to see it, specially as I'd never seen one before!
Oh and the Focaccia was very good! Yum!
