I've seen many of these mini planets, but never knew how to do it until recently...I saw flickr user Seth Oliver post one up a few days ago, and his is much better than my bogus one, but I had to try it. Thanks for inspiring me, Seth!

I had re-size it because it was a large pano and the file size was massive. I found that getting it to wrap around and look cohesive to be the hardest part, but it was definitely fun.

Eolienne - Charente Maritime - Windturbine (Charente Maritime - France)

360° stereographic panorama. 9 pictures on tripod with Nodal Ninja 5 (6 pictures + 1 for zenith + 2 for nadir)

This shot of an old Aermotor windmill at the entrance of the Brasada Ranch resort in central Oregon was taken at sunset with a 360-degree camera held about 10 feet above my head with a selfie stick. Almost looks like a drone shot! I then morphed the panorama into a "mini planet", which exaggerated the size of the mill. That's a small pond to the right of the windmill's base. I photoshopped myself out of the image.

Un point de vue stéréographique le bassin de l’Arsenal

A stereographic view of the Arsenal basin.

I simply had to have a go at creating a mini-world of Staithes. The 360 degree Panorama was taken from the centre of the harbor at low water. It was stitched from 21 portrait frames, each bracketed and processed in HDR, so 63 exposures in total.

little planet from my garden, created with a 360*180° pano

A shot I took ages ago. I think it makes a great mini planet

Pima County, Tucson, AZ May 5, 2010These creations go by many names. Tiny Planet, Polar Coordinate, Small Planet, Polar Panorama and several others. The bottom line is the photo is distorted with the polar coordinate filter found in Adobe Photoshop. There are other programs, but that's how I've been doing it. The process couldn't be easier, but there is a bit of finesse involved.

Not 100% happy with this - Next time I'll take the UV filter off. - Focus it better, lower the ISO and decrease the aperture.

I used my tripod and put the 3 legs around 3 of the 4 points on the top of the beacon and then tied the bottom of those the legs up with a t-shirt. Once secure, I climbed up on top of the beacon and used the shutter release to snap all the pics all the while trying to hold myself up there without falling or getting infront of the lens.

A B&W version of this miniplanet received 1st Place in the 2017 DE State Fair, Creative Digital Black & White.

A few months ago we stayed at this amazing place just outside of Mudgee. www.owlheadlodge.com.au/

I remembered taking a 360 panorama whilst I was there so I thought I'd revist the shots and using the polar coordinates filter created this.

i've quite finished to upload the photos from 2 sundays ago. it remains only the miniplanets :D

Mini world with 4 photos in Cuba. Cayo Guillermo

My first attempt at a "mini planet" this tutorial. It shows my wife on "her own little world" at a trip sometime last year to Hyams Beach.

Hyams Beach is a secluded settlement on the southern shores of Jervis Bay, about 2.5 hours drive from Sydney. The village is surrounded by National and Marine Parks and the beach is said to have "the whitest sand in the world"

Second attempt at a mini planet... Combined HDR and photo stitching. Probably could use some tweaking but I didn't want to over do it... Any suggestions are welcome...
