Our home was built in 1867. The parquet and all the walnut woodwork is original to the house. The old square grand piano was left by the previous owners who did not want to move it. Very heavy, I'm tellin' ya. The piano sits in the living room, the parquet floor is the front hall.

I closed the library door, pulled back the living room rug, the guest book table (which usually sits by the newel post), and all the stuff on the stairs (waiting to go up) to make this a minimal shot featuring the piano and the woodwork.

Thanks to everyone who views this photo, adds a note, leaves a comment and of course BIG thanks to anyone who chooses to favourite my photo .... thanks to you all.

Probably the most minimal shot I ever made

Half a moon this mornig, I couldn't resist to shoot it. Really like it as minimalism shot. Always been a sucker for frosty crisp blue skies.

Happy New Year everyone! Went to the city to hang out with a couple friends at his condo for the new year. Wasn't planning on shooting anything, but ended up doing it anyway - why not? No tripod, no remote, no black card, probability of decent shots, minimal. Shots were taken from his living room through his window, all hand held at high iso. Most of the photos are heavy cropped (at least 2/3rd taken out) largely because I all had was the 85 prime. Anyway, hope everyone had a wonderful New Year and look forward to another year of great images from you all.

There were a lot of Canada Geese, close to 100. I was taking photos of some on the small pond when I heard some over my head. I took a couple shots before they flew away. I even have some of them over the pond. This one struck me with the lights and dark on their wings and bodies." ~

Alpi Apuane - Prati di Campocecina

Taken yesterday morning on the golf course. I was scanning the tips of the trees for the Tufted Titmouse I heard singing and all of a sudden this guy appeared:). This tree was probably 25-30 foot tall....He looked stunning against the blue sky:).

Chris and I want to wish all of you out in flickrland a joyous, safe, and happy new year!

2009 has been the year of many things good and bad.

For one, Chris and I got our first apartment togther and have successfully cohabitated in happy union without killing one another. Hooray!

Chris has been exploring new rhealms of the company he works for and designed a position very well suited for his expertice. This has given us a crazier schedule, but we are working through it.

I finished my 365 project this year, which was quite an undertaking but I learned a lot about myself and about technique. Aquiring a new lens for "Penny" has shown some pleasant results, and a new 52 weeks project is underway.

A trip to Chicago for my company's annual meeting this year presented the opportunity to visit some museums and see some fabulous art that we had never seen before. I was very happy for Chris that he finally got to see "Nighthawks" by Edward Hopper, and "American Gothic" by Grant Wood.

We threw our first party at our new place which was a success. It was very fun to uncork all sorts of bottles of wine with some of my dearest friends.

I lost some pounds and gained them all back :( Oh well there is always next year.

Last years resolution was partially fulfilled. I wanted to write three songs. Three songs have their beginning, but they are not finished.

I got a new ( to me) car. Unfortunately this was due to a car accident that totalled my Huckleberry. But Stella is becoming a good friend and I think we will be spending many happy years together.

As most of you know this is also the year of my tragic brush with violence- an event that will forever change me. As unfortunate as it is, I feel I can't leave it out of these annual events. The flickr community showed an outpouring of support and love throughout my rough patch, and I thank you sooooo much for that.

Of course that will only lead me to the joy that flickr has brought me this year. I've laughed, I've cried. You let me into your lives and I feel like I have become even closer to many of you throughout this year and I hope to know you and share with you even more in 2010.

So my resolutions for 2010 are

-Get used to writing and typing 2010

-Learn to embroider with the wonderful supplies my parents got me for Christmas.

-Get over my fear of infants. My brother and sister-in-law are having a baby girl in May and I want to be able to change a diaper if I need to without freaking out.

-Start a Moleskine journal with drawings and collages.

-Finish my 52 weeks project with minimal shots that look like they took two seconds to execute.

-Complete those three songs that i mentioned earlier.

-Learn guitar. With the help of Chris I hope to accomplish at least some of the basics. I don't think by any means I will be talented at it, but If I can make preconceived noise that sounds pretty, I'll be happy.

-Meet Holly!!!! And hopefully, if I'm lucky, more of you.

Cheers all!

During my new year vacation, after leaving desert area, I 'm having a stop in Tehran, during last three days I,ve spent my time in this area which is located just 50 Km from my home in Tehran to experince some minimal shots, highly different climatic conditions reminds me that Iran is really a land of four season.

Setup shot for the minimal portrait, though you can only see the corner of the big reflector, and can see more of it here. Notes should explain what little there is.

Another black and white shot of Catherine in her skirt and black top. This is shot out in our back parking lot. Tried to keep the cars out of the shot and keep the background minimal. Shot in bright sunlight with D7100 and 85mm f/1.8D. Edited in Photoshop CC.

My attempt at a minimalism shot. I did a 3 exposure HDR. Waiting about a minute between shots to get the blur of the clouds so that they lead you into the centre of the photo

No sé si soy desprendido, generoso, posesivo, acaparador,,, pero, con todo, amo a mi tiempo. y soy parte de él.
