Peace 😊

Children of all ages can benefit from mindfulness, the simple practice of bringing a gentle, accepting attitude to the present moment. It can help parents and caregivers too, by promoting happiness and relieving stress.

Happy Flickr Friday! : )

Mindfulness, a practice rooted in ancient meditation traditions, is gaining traction in modern society as a powerful tool for mental clarity and well-being. This technique involves maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and the surrounding environment through a gentle, nurturing lens.

By fostering a heightened state of consciousness, individuals can break free from the autopilot mode often induced by the fast-paced nature of contemporary life.

Recent studies underscore the myriad benefits of mindfulness, which range from reduced stress and anxiety to improved focus and emotional regulation. Advocates argue that incorporating mindfulness into daily routines can lead to enhanced overall health, promoting a more balanced and fulfilling life.

As the practice continues to garner mainstream attention, its potential as a remedy for the mental health challenges of our time becomes increasingly apparent.

Be in the moment, embrace the calm and just breathe.

Life has a way of pulling us in countless directions—its rhythm often loud, relentless, and overwhelming. In the middle of this chaos, quiet moments become not just desirable, but essential, grounding us when everything else feels unsteady.

Meditation and stillness offer a sanctuary—a chance to retreat into silence and reconnect with ourselves. Even just a few minutes of quiet can soothe the mind, reduce stress, and spark fresh perspective. The beauty of meditation lies not in escaping the world, but in re-entering it with calm and focus.

Whether it's a quiet corner of your home, a bench in a sunlit park, or the meditative glow of a candlelit room, having a dedicated space for restoration creates a powerful invitation to pause. It reminds us that we have permission to step away, to breathe deeply, and to simply be.

In these moments, we’re reminded that renewal doesn’t have to be grand or elaborate—it thrives in simplicity. A quiet walk, the hum of nature, or the soft cadence of a cat’s purr can replenish us in ways that go beyond words. Taking time to renew isn’t a luxury; it’s an act of care that enables us to move through life with resilience, purpose, and a sense of presence.

- About the scenery:

Jæren is a traditional district stretching across some 65 kilometers on the southwestern coast of Norway and has a geographical size of 1,070 km².

Jæren is the largest lowland area in Norway. The coast is mostly very flat, with sandy beaches along the entire coastline. Here is also the longest sand beach in Norway that stretches for 7 km.

The Gulf Stream together with western winds makes for a spectacular coastline that never holds snow or ice in the winter and the light here is spectacular.

In our thoughtless actions, we have tossed aside items like shoes and clothes, oblivious to the consequences they may have on our environment. However, recognizing the importance of safeguarding our planet for future generations, it is time for us to unite and make a change. Let us turn our words into action by embracing recycling, and let us cultivate a greener future by growing our own vegetable gardens using recycled materials. Together, we can create a sustainable world where care for the environment extends beyond today and leaves a lasting legacy for the generations to come.

by Mary Oliver Every day

I see or hear

something

that more or less

kills me

with delight,

that leaves me

like a needle

in the haystack

of light.

It was what I was born for -

to look, to listen,

to lose myself

inside this soft world -

to instruct myself

over and over

in joy,

and acclamation.

Nor am I talking

about the exceptional,

the fearful, the dreadful,

the very extravagant -

but of the ordinary,

the common, the very drab,

the daily presentations.

Oh, good scholar,

I say to myself,

how can you help

but grow wise

with such teachings

as these -

the untrimmable light

of the world,

the ocean's shine,

the prayers that are made

out of grass?

"Mindfulness is about love and loving life.

When you cultivate this love,

it gives you clarity and compassion for life,

and your actions happen in accordance with that."

We need to awaken ourselves.
