at last I've managed to get out and get some photos! To get some practice in before going to London next week I took my camera into work hoping to get some long exposure shots in the middle of the day using Lee's Supper Stopper to get an shot around 8 minutes in length. I don't normally try photos at these sorts of lengths but its quite handy as it gets rid of all the people walking about the quayside in the middle of the day!
It has been some 46 years since we started celebrating Earth Day. It was a very different planet than compared to now.
Internet cat videos weren’t around to distract us. Millennials hadn’t yet graced the planet. Simon & Garfunkel had the biggest hit song of the year.
In less than two generations of humans, the populations of vertebrate animals have dropped by 52% between 1970 and 2010.
We often hear about the plight of various endangered species, and the fact of the matter is that experts are starting to think we’re on the verge of a sixth mass extinction in the entire 3.8 billion year history of life on this planet. However, to most people, species are kind of an abstract concept; so is the academic term "biodiversity," which is so frequently used. On this day just take a moment to think about what the next 2 generations will bring, if we stick to what we have been doing so far.

Olivastro Millenario in Sardegna
The Uros descend from a millennial town that, according to legends, are "pukinas" who speak Uro or Pukina and that believe they are the owners of the lake and water. Uros used to say that they have black blood because they did not feel the cold. Also they call themselves "Lupihaques" (Sons of The Sun). Nowadays, Uros do not speak the Uro language, nor practice their old beliefs but keep some old customs.[2]
The purpose of the island settlements was originally defensive, and if a threat arose they could be moved. The largest island retains a watchtower almost entirely constructed of reeds.[citation needed]
The Uros traded with the Aymara tribe on the mainland, intermarrying with them and eventually abandoning the Uro language for that of the Aymara. About 500 years ago they lost their original language. When conquered by the Inca empire, they had to pay taxes to them, and often were made (Wiki)
I just happened to come across this wedding party in London over the weekend and thought it made for a nice photo.
It's on the Millennium Bridge looking north from the Tate Modern to St Paul's Cathedral which is vaguely visible in the mist.

Vajdahunyad Castle is in the City Park, it was built in 1896 as part of the Millennial Exhibition which celebrated the 1,000 years of Hungary since the Hungarian Conquest of the Carpathian Basin in 895. Originally, it was made from cardboard and wood, but it became so popular that it was rebuilt from stone and brick between 1904 and 1908. Today, it houses the Museum of Hungarian Agriculture, the biggest agricultural museum in Europe

When millennials killed the superhero industry - kinda literally - Superman must reevaluate his place in society. That's as much of his origin as I'm willing to read right now, because I haven't read Kingdom Come and surprisingly no one's quite spoiled it yet! I do know that his Earth gets destroyed, and he winds up on Earth-1 right before Earth-1's Magog takes the stage - Magog being the tipping point of homicidal "heroes" on his Earth - and becomes a member of the JSA!
This is the best you can really do for a dark blue Superman right now - something I'd like to see changed, but probably won't outside of an actual Kingdom Come Superman minifig.
This cheerful throwback to the Hippie Era is The Mellow Mushroom, mascot of the restaurant of the same name that has recently become one of my faves! When my brother suggested going there, I didn't think I'd like it, since the name is a little tacky, but I really enjoyed the whole experience.
As you might guess, The Mellow Mushroom is apparently a chain, and the bright decor and fun, updated hippie atmosphere lures both Boomers and Millennials alike. The service was very good both times I went there, and the food was great! A friend who went with me felt the toppings were a bit skimpy on his pizza, but I had the Holy Shitake Pie, and it was pretty yummy, as there was a truffle drizzle on it, too. Very tasty! The price was a little high, but at least I know what I'll get and enjoy when I go and pay it! I was also impressed by how clean the place was, and enjoyed the 60's and 70's music playing in the background.
I should write travel guides or something, huh? I just feel credit should be given where credit is due, and The Mellow Mushroom in Port Orange, Florida was a great place! And no, it isn't just about mushrooms. They have lots of other stuff on the menu that looked good, but I think I've found the one thing I'll continue to get when I go there!

-Vajdahunyad Castle is a castle in the City Park of Budapest (Varosliget). It was built in 1896 as part of the Millennial Exhibition which celebrated the 1,000 years of Hungary since the Hungarian Conquest of the Carpathian Basin in 895. The castle was designed by Ignác Alpár to feature copies of several landmark buildings from different parts the Kingdom of Hungary, especially the Hunyad Castle in Transylvania (now in Romania). As the castle contains parts of buildings from various time periods, it displays different architectural styles: Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque. Originally, it was made from cardboard and wood, but it became so popular that it was rebuilt from stone and brick between 1904 and 1908. Today, it houses the Museum of Hungarian Agriculture, the biggest agricultural museum in Europe.
