Nikon D750, Nikon 16-35mm f/4, Lee Supper Stopper & 0.9 ND Grad Soft

at last I've managed to get out and get some photos! To get some practice in before going to London next week I took my camera into work hoping to get some long exposure shots in the middle of the day using Lee's Supper Stopper to get an shot around 8 minutes in length. I don't normally try photos at these sorts of lengths but its quite handy as it gets rid of all the people walking about the quayside in the middle of the day!

"Is it okay?? Will it explode??"

"You just need a jump! Your battery's dead. Try to start it now."

"It's dead!?! Did I kill it??"

"Bones, I told you not to help. Millennials cannot string rational thoughts together, much less manage an automobile."

"I know that, Ilia, but this is so simple! Listen... what did you say your name was??"

"Snowflake Easytrigger."

"Okay... Snowflake... your battery is de-... doesn't have a charge. So I have it hooked to my battery. Just try to start your Jeep and we should be able to jump it."

"You're going to jump my Jeep!?"

"Oh, for..."

"Just unhook the cables, Bones, and let's go. You may want to phase her also, to ease everyone's misery."

"When I drove it here, it was fine! Do you think this is because of climate change??"

"JUST START YOUR JEEP!!"

"You're yelling at me???"

"Where's that phaser...?"

Olivastro Millenario in Sardegna

The Uros descend from a millennial town that, according to legends, are "pukinas" who speak Uro or Pukina and that believe they are the owners of the lake and water. Uros used to say that they have black blood because they did not feel the cold. Also they call themselves "Lupihaques" (Sons of The Sun). Nowadays, Uros do not speak the Uro language, nor practice their old beliefs but keep some old customs.[2]

The purpose of the island settlements was originally defensive, and if a threat arose they could be moved. The largest island retains a watchtower almost entirely constructed of reeds.[citation needed]

The Uros traded with the Aymara tribe on the mainland, intermarrying with them and eventually abandoning the Uro language for that of the Aymara. About 500 years ago they lost their original language. When conquered by the Inca empire, they had to pay taxes to them, and often were made (Wiki)

I just happened to come across this wedding party in London over the weekend and thought it made for a nice photo.

It's on the Millennium Bridge looking north from the Tate Modern to St Paul's Cathedral which is vaguely visible in the mist.

When millennials killed the superhero industry - kinda literally - Superman must reevaluate his place in society. That's as much of his origin as I'm willing to read right now, because I haven't read Kingdom Come and surprisingly no one's quite spoiled it yet! I do know that his Earth gets destroyed, and he winds up on Earth-1 right before Earth-1's Magog takes the stage - Magog being the tipping point of homicidal "heroes" on his Earth - and becomes a member of the JSA!

This is the best you can really do for a dark blue Superman right now - something I'd like to see changed, but probably won't outside of an actual Kingdom Come Superman minifig.

Gimme some-a dat ole time religion!

A lot has happened since Jacob Carpenter (a Swiss immigrant) settled there in 1748. And as strange as it may seem to the millennials, back in those days there was no welfare, Medicaid, food stamps, or crop insurance. So they hauled their family into church every Sunday and prayed to God bad things didn't happen!

But now that we have Uncle Sam to take care of us, who needs God any more? Though I've heard there are those among us who think if they had to count on the U.S. government to take care of them, they'd need God more than ever!

-Vajdahunyad Castle is a castle in the City Park of Budapest (Varosliget). It was built in 1896 as part of the Millennial Exhibition which celebrated the 1,000 years of Hungary since the Hungarian Conquest of the Carpathian Basin in 895. The castle was designed by Ignác Alpár to feature copies of several landmark buildings from different parts the Kingdom of Hungary, especially the Hunyad Castle in Transylvania (now in Romania). As the castle contains parts of buildings from various time periods, it displays different architectural styles: Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque. Originally, it was made from cardboard and wood, but it became so popular that it was rebuilt from stone and brick between 1904 and 1908. Today, it houses the Museum of Hungarian Agriculture, the biggest agricultural museum in Europe.

As a millennial, I'm part of the last generation born to the monoculture. Growing up, we all had a mostly shared cultural experience. In the 1990s, everyone knew about the same books, same songs, same shows, same movies. We had individual tastes, sure, but an equal awareness of what was out there was pretty widespread. There were always folks who dug a little deeper for things under the radar, but that was tough unless you lived in a city with access to specialty stores. Then in the 2000s, as I hit my mid-teens, the internet finally got advanced enough for sharing high-quality media. Almost overnight, I broke the leash of local video rental and music shops, for the freedom of accessing artistic expression from across the globe. It was a wonderfully expansive experience.

I didn't realize then how much the internet would shatter our shared perspective. Now, you tell someone otherwise aware about the most popular piece of media in a given year, and they might not have a clue about it. The best-selling album is still Michael Jackson's Thriller in 1982. The most-watched TV episode is still the finale of M*A*S*H in 1983. This, despite the planet having added nearly four billion in population since then. We're splintered off to individual tastes, but I think it's overall a good thing. As recent as the 90s, I never could've had a career. Without a big book deal or a show on TV, my work would be dead in the water. The gatekeepers to an audience held the keys to my future. Then the glass ceiling shattered like some cathode-ray tube — no barrier between me and you.

On the Ruta pass, a crossing point of ancient roads, at 281 meters above sea level stands the Millenary Church.
