Shot of the Northern side dome (aka cupola) of the church dedicated to the Transfiguration of the Savior at Palaeo Mikro Chōrio in Evrytania, Greece. The domes are roofed with lead.
This church saved all the lives of the congregation's attending members from the landslide occurred on January 13, 1963.
Eigenbau aus einem Mikroskop-Korpus vom Flohmarkt - Die Okulare fehlten, aber für 30€ -
ich dachte, man kann vieleicht was daraus machen. Das Canon-Lupenobjektiv 3.5/20mm ist ein Erbstück von meinem Vater, es hat ein entsprechendes Gewinde und paßt in den Objektiv-Revolver. Die Lumix GX8 wurde mit einem Zwischenring direkt an den Tubus der Okular-Aufnahme angeflanscht. Der Abstand ist perfekt und der Auszug kann noch mit einem Helicoid-Tubus verlängert werden.
Die zwei Mikroskop-Objektive die noch dabei waren, liefern erstaunlich gute Aufnahmen und zeichnen das Bildfeld voll aus.
Die Konstruktion ist mit 6,5 Kg sehr stabil und der wirklich sanfte Feintrieb ermöglicht Serien für Stacks.
Self-made from a microscope body from the flea market - The eyepieces were missing, but for 30€ -.
I thought I could make something out of it. The Canon loupe lens 3.5/20mm is an heirloom from my father, it has an appropriate thread and fits into the objective revolver. The Lumix GX8 was flanged directly to the eyepiece mount tube with an extension ring. The distance is perfect and the extension can still be extended with a helicoid tube.
The two microscope objectives that were still included provide amazingly good images and draw the field of view fully.
The construction is very stable with 6.5 kg and the really smooth fine drive allows series for stacks.
Shot of “Old Mikro Chōrio” in Evrytania, Greece in late August 2022. The number of buildings is remarkably small; it is so small that it reminds of a settlement rather than a complete village: Indeed, the “Old” word is a euphemism for what has remained out of the former Mikro Chōrio after the notorious disaster struck on January 13, 1963: Then, a whole mountainside of Mt. Chelidona slid along with a large part of the village!
The church discerned in the shot is dedicated to the Transfiguration of the Savior. The church literally saved the lives of all the members of the congregation who were there for that Sunday's Divine Liturgy! Thirteen persons perished in 1963.
A lesser landslide event or landslip occurred again recently: on December 14–15, 2021, at night, with no casualties.

Ανάμεσα σε απόκρημνα βράχια ξεπροβάλλει μια απαράμιλλου φυσικού κάλλους παραλία, η οποία φαντάζει ως ένα μέρος απρόσιτο και απαγορευμένο. Το Σεϊτάνι πήρε το όνομα του επί Τουρκοκρατίας, καθώς οι Τούρκοι το θεωρούσαν το λιμάνι του Διαβόλου, δηλαδή Σαϊτάν. Το “Διαβολολίμανο” βρίσκεται στο τέλος ενός απόκρημνου φαραγγιού που ονομάζεται Κακοπέρατο, και δεν έχει οδική πρόσβαση. Είναι ενταγμένο στο δίκτυο προστασίας Natura 2000 γιατί φιλοξενεί φώκιες Μονάχους – Μονάχους....
Ο μόνος τρόπος για να το επισκεφθεί κανείς είναι να οπλιστεί με όρεξη, να αφήσει το αμάξι και να ξεκινήσει την πεζοπορία των τριών χιλιομέτρων. Βρίσκεται στο βορειοδυτικό άκρο της Σάμου....
Στην παραλία πηγαίνετε αποκλειστικά με τα πόδια, ή παίρνοντας ένα πλεούμενο από το λιμάνι Καρλοβάσου. Αυτό που αξίζει όμως είναι η υπέροχη διαδρομή πάνω στο απόκρημνο βουνό, μέσα από πυκνή βλάστηση που κρύβει τις ακτίνες του ήλιου και κάνει τη διαδρομή απολαυστική!
Πριν επιχειρήσετε την πεζοπορία, πρέπει να προμηθευτείτε νερό, καφέ ή ότι άλλο επιθυμείτε, γιατί η παραλία είναι εντελώς έρημη και δεν παρέχει τα απαραίτητα. Μάλιστα είναι σχετικά δύσκολη η επικοινωνία μέσω κινητού, γιατί κανένα GGG δεν φτάνει μέχρι εκεί!
Στην πραγματικότητα είναι μία από τις πιο όμορφες παραλίες στο Αιγαίο!
Mικρό Σεϊτάνι, σημαντική περιοχή για τη Θαλάσσια χελώνα Caretta caretta και για την Μεσογειακή φώκια Monachus monachus....
Μεγάλο Σεϊτάνι προσφέρεται για εκείνους που αγαπούν το ελεύθερο κάμπινγκ, πάντα με σεβασμό στο παρθένο τοπίο. Μια διανυκτέρευση στη γαλήνη της φύσης δεν συγκρίνεται με κανένα υπερπολυτελές ξενοδοχείο…...
Κατά την επιστροφή, φροντίστε να αφήσετε την παραλία καθαρή, μαζεύοντας τα σκουπίδια και συμβάλλοντας με αυτόν τον τρόπο στην διατήρηση της ομορφιάς του τοπίου.

Karadeniz'in özellikle Trabzon - Artvin arasında tropik-altı mikroiklimi sürer. Bu sayede bu sahilde gördüğünüz gibi muzdan mısıra, muşmuladan (döngel) kiviye her şey yetişiyor. Her şey çaydan sonra böyle olmuş. Çay ekiminin özendirilmesiyle yağmurlar başlamış ve iklim değişmiş.
A subtropical microclimate is dominant on the Black Sea coast especially from Trabzon to Artvin. That's why bananas (as you see here), corn, oranges, and even kiwis grow here abundantly. When there were incentives for planting tea, the climate changed dramatically and rain came.
The former Mikro Kodesh synagogue in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Mikro Kodesh congregation was founded in 1890 by immigrants who had fled antisemitic laws and pogroms in Russia and the building was completed in 1927. The building is now used by the Disciples Ministry Church.
