Last week the bushes around my house were filled with these cheeky little birds. They have since moved on in their journey south.

Association for Stimulating Know-how (ASK) has conducted a two-days Capacity Building Programme on “Result Mapping and Effective Monitoring” for the partner CSOs such as Grameen Development Services, People For Peace Service Society and Tarun Chetna. The program was held at Lucknow on 28-29 August 2018.

The northern leg of their annual migration is on again. They've been going past for a few weeks now and judging by the pace this pair was making, they're keen to get to Queensland.

A steady stream of birds migrating south down along the Pacific coast at the Oysterville Approach on the Long Beach Peninsula in Washington on 8/26/2024. I am so sorry that I do not know what kind of birds they are - any guesses are welcome. The stream was going strong when I pulled onto the beach, and I was there trying to record for 20 minutes before the light got too bad. Such an amazing event to witness! 🙏
The Dialogue held on 26 September 2017, was attended by more than a hundred people including, representatives from various ministries, embassies, academics, researchers, employers and workers representatives, civil society organizations.
The meeting continued the implementation of the India-EU Common Agenda on Migration and Mobility (CAMM) signed last year, and comes ahead of the upcoming India-EU Summit to be held in Delhi in October 2017. The CAMM addresses four pillars: better organized regular migration and the fostering of well-managed mobility; prevention of irregular migration and trafficking in human beings; maximizing the development impact of migration and mobility; and promotion of international protection.
For those of my contacts with an interest in watching birds (Harry! Are you reading this?!), this is to let you know that the Loch Garten resident female osprey, EJ, is back (only today!) from her winter migration. And she's begun tidying up her nest.
The RSPB team at Loch Garten are excitedly awaiting the arrival of the male -- and wondering who he will be this year.
Last year's dramatic osprey breeding season at Loch Garten was a story of joy, sorrow, achievement and extraordinary endurance. I watched it all last year, and it was truly amazing!

A skein (is that the right word?) of geese over the back garden. Thousands have been migrating lately. I wonder where this group are heading....

The day I took the photo I had the definitive confirmation of something that had been a possibility for months: going to Utrecht to do a 3-month stay for the PhD.
My very first fabric postcard. Made for the Project Quilting Challenge #6, triangles, at the last moment. Measures 4 inches by 6 inches. Made right here in Deary, Idaho.
Raw edge machine applique, strips of light blue for the sky and brown triangle geese. Inspired by the triangle scraps, trimmings from another project and somehow still sitting around in my sewing room instead of tossed in the trash.
The Wildebeest Migration is a dramatic story. It takes place within Kenya and Tanzania and is the greatest wildlife show on earth. Between the open plains of the Serengeti and the Masai Mara, thousands of wildebeest and zebras migrate to greener pastures as the seasons change and the circle of life and death continues. Predators follow the Wildebeest Migration closely, waiting for an opportunity to strike weak prey as they make their way into different territories.
The precise timing of the Wildebeest Migration changes annually and it is a very unpredictable and spontaneous natural event. The calving season takes place in the Serengeti between the months of January and mid-March before the Wildebeest Migration begins heading towards the western Serengeti in June.
