Four shots like this one, always the opaque part of the microscope slide barely broke.

Interesting, the rough surface let the glass more resistant?

Usually I would think the opposite.

Bacteria from spider wood freshwater tank, 100x/1.4, DIC, HF A

Panasonic LX3 coupled to microscope to image a diamond ring. Nine images stacked and combined for increased DOF using Deepskystacker. LX3 set to RAW, f/4, ISO 200, 1/25 sec.

Weird little guy another student found on a slide of Anabaena.

40x objective, NA 0.65 plus 2.5x relay lens to Canon T2i

captured as HD Video and then focus stacked.

 

Scale ~8.7 pixels per micron.

Theoretical resolution should be ~0.5 microns

This is from a beach out by the fort, this is one of the most incredible sand samples I've seen, the whole beach is full of this pebble-like sand
