SST12CP12 Combines High Linear Output Power With Low EVM in Small Package for Longer Range at Maximum Data Rate; Supports MCS8, HT40, Spectrum Mask and OFDM.
Microchip today announced its latest 2.4 GHz RF high-power amplifier—the SST12CP12—which adds support for the 256-QAM ultra-high data rate modulation. With its high linear output power of up to 23 dBm at a dynamic EVM as low as 1.8% and MCS8 40 MHz bandwidth modulation, along with 25 dBm linear power at 3% EVM, this amplifier significantly extends the range of IEEE 802.11b/g/n WLAN systems while providing excellent power at the maximum 256-QAM data rate. It is also spectrum mask compliant up to 28.5 dBm for 802.11b/g communication, and utilizes Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) to correct severe channel conditions without the need for complex equalization filters. Additionally, the SST12CP12 reduces board space with its small 3x3x0.55 mm, 16-pin QFN package. For more info, visit: www.microchip.com/get/NCPD

Microchip's new six-member family of temperature sensor ICs, called the EMC118X, is the world’s first family with 1.8V SMBus and I2C™ communications, which is required for interfacing to the latest generation of smartphone, tablet and PC chipsets. Additionally, this integrated low-voltage I/O support reduces cost and board space because it is accomplished without an external voltage level shifter. These are also the first temp sensors to use an advanced sample-frequency-hopping filter, which enables temperature-monitoring traces of up to 8 inches in noisy environments with accurate readings. The EMC118X family serves a broad range of applications in the mobile, commercial and embedded computing markets, by combining the above features with options for dual, triple and quad temperature monitoring, along with hardwired system-shutdown settings that can’t be overridden by software. Two Alkaline batteries may also be used to power the RE46C190.
Microchip today added two new 3-phase Brushless DC (BLDC) motor gate drivers with integrated power module, LIN transceiver and Sleep mode—the MCP8025 and MCP8026 (MCP8025/6). These devices can power a broad range of Microchip’s dsPIC® Digital Signal Controllers (DSCs) and PIC® microcontrollers (MCUs), complementing their control algorithms by driving MOSFETs, sensing current, preventing short circuits, outputting zero crosses, controlling dead time and blanking time, and monitoring for fault conditions such as over/under-voltage, over-temperature and other thermal warnings. This combination enables Microchip to provide a complete motor control and drive solution for a broad range of automotive and industrial applications. Additionally, the new drivers’ 150 degrees Celsius ambient temperature, low sleep current of 5 µA (typ.) and LIN transceiver make them particularly well suited for automotive designs, such as those that operate under the hood (e.g., pumps and HVAC blowers) or need to reduce key-off power consumption. The on-chip LIN transceiver is compliant with the LIN Bus 2.1 and SAE J2602 standards, as well as the previous-generation LIN 1.X standards. For more info, visit www.microchip.com/get/D3EG
Have you ever thought that most of our perception about the robot is based on the Hollywood movie! The well-known 3CPO and R2D2 from Star Wars until the little cute garbage compacting robot named WALL-E; all of these machines are example of our dreams or should I say our quest to what we all think about the robot should be. Although the robot that we are going to build here is still far away from the technologies shown on those movies but at least it will give you an introductory to the robotics world. for more information please visit www.ermicro.com/blog/?p=983
