I like how they both seem to be looking for something, but I guess the guy with the metal detector isn't looking for a mouldy old piece of bread!
Metal detecting finds: School pin, shell casing, 22 coins. Hunted in Treelake Park, Granite Bay, Calif.
Howto create a belt mounted trash bag holder.
Cut the bottom out of the tub and bend the hanger as shown to be the belt hanger.
An Anglo-Saxon roundel. Date, 10th – 11th century AD. This gold and enamel roundel is probably from Hampshire. It was found by Mr K Hollyfield while metaldetecting between 1980 and the early 1990s, and reported Treasure by his son. Though it was not declared Treasure - because it was found before the commencement of the Treasure Act 1996 - the object was such a rarity that it has been purchased by the British Museum. This object shows the Hand of God descending in a gesture of blessing or divine acknowledgement. The setting almost certainly derived from a larger object of some kind and in terms of design shows similarities to the famous ‘Alfred Jewel’.

My latest finds from metal detecting on the beach :) 3 quarters, 3 dimes, 9 pennies, a fishing weight, G.I. Joe, some foil, and a matchbox car. All in an hour's hard work! (That's $1.14 in total for those who don't feel like doing the math). But the funniest part here is that my nephew fell in love w/ the car and G. I. Joe, and actually the weight too, and he took them everywhere we went for the next 3 days! Haha... so really, that alone was worth the expedition to keep him busy.
Placed the tunic button on my jacket at the time it was found.
The area around here had a few military camps/large houses where soldiers were based during both wars.GVR would be King George the fifth so this would be WW1 era.
