Its amazing to see the incredible condition of this coin considering its close to being nearly 1700 years since it was minted and then lost in the soil.

VIRTVS EXERCIT ( In honor of the valor of the army) reverse depicting two captives seated under a standard inscribed VOT XX and this is a London mint coin.

For a time at the end of the third century Roman coins were actually struck at a mint in London. This London mint set up by the Romans is the earliest recorded mint in the capital of England, but it functioned for no more than 40 years. Although it reopened in the year 383, it must have closed again almost at once.

Constantine II was the 60th emperor of the Roman empire.

This coin is actually a mule. As it has a Crown obverse (Spink 1569), with cross 3 on the reverse and there's an annulet in one quarter ( Spink 1570).

The inscription around both sides of the coin is as follows...

EDWARD DI GRA REX ANGL Z FRANC (Edward by the grace of God, King of England & France)

POSVI DEVM ADIVTORE MEVM...(I have made God my helper)

My first day out of my own yard with the new X-Terra 505. A few forum posts at metaldetectingforums.com inspired me to detect the trashy picnic area. Glad I did. First Gold of the year. 14KP men's ring.

Another day at the playground. The coins are coming less frequently, but I found a silver ear ring and a guitar charm, and a few cool buttons.

19 Pennies

1 dime

My daughter was with me and wanted me to post the drawer pull with the other finds. :)

On February 23rd we went out and did some water detecting in the Huron river at a canoe pick up point, we spent around two hours in the water detecting. Not a lot of finds, but i did get one keeper, a 10k gold ring i dug close to the bank, and we only found one coin for the day, Lots of pull tabs, sinkers and trash. So the ring made a cold day turn a little warmer

Went back to the woods where i was at yesterday, spent 1 hour detecting. Best finds of the day were, 1942 mercury dine, Wheat penny and a few other items.

My buddy, Rhett, metal detects in the darkness while i flip logs in search of my own quarry.
