A view of 90043 from on board 1K39 prior to departure from Milton Keynes Central, 4th August 2011. This was my first time on 1K39 and it was a great laugh with all of the The Messroom forum members on board

Photo by Dave Wilson. The scuttle leading to the Messroom, the Upper and Lower Wheelhouse, the Gear Room (newly re-clad and painted in recent weeks) and one of the 8 anti-slew stays bolted to the deck and crane.

David at Cape Horn. Now he can put both feet on the messroom table!

Mainly used to eat with a small kitchen but also many other purposes by the crew, notice the bigger windows and extra storage and sleeping space along the sides.

Taken while having lunch onboard. Thanks for your nice food.

Trip to Switzerland, September 2007.

This trip included a Loco & Carriage Institution/Charters Helvetica "do" on which I was working, hence lots of train related photos.

Depot messroom, made up as a local bar.

Would cause heart-attacks and screams of rage on today's railway in the UK, but then this is Switzerland where things are a touch more laid back!
