Meade DSI Color/ 600 second (40 15sec exposures) RGB exposure/Prime focus/114×500mm Telescope/Leveled in Photoshop/Flintstone, GA

My 2014 Imaging Messier Marathon was a challenge due to unwanted (and unusual for late Spring in Arizona) cloud cover. A cloudbank which thickened on the western horizon at Sunset, blocked off at least the first 10 Messier Objects, to the dismay of the assembled Amateur Astronomers. We scrambled to observe those Objects most likely to next be covered by the spreading clouds.

By 10PM, I'd captured Image data for 20 Messier Objects.

As I didn't want to waste away a rare clear night I found a Messier object to photograph and test the limiting magnitude of my 40D under Boston night skies. I still can't seem to push it past ~ mag. +12.5. (480 frames x 3.2" exposure at 190 mm, F/5.0, ISO 1600)
