Nikon D50/150 second RGB exposure (5*30sec, RegiStax 4)/25mm Plossl eyepiece/114x375mm Telescope/Flintstone, GA

This wasn't the main reason why I made my Hong Kong-inspired hand-drawn type but I decided to decorate my twitter with it anyway.

The Crab Nebula is the remnant of a supernova that was seen in 1054. This cloud of expanding gas is now about 8 light years across, and is about 6500 light years from Earth. This image was obtained using the Seestar S50 Smart Telescope. The sky was Bortle 7, with high humidity, haze and passing clouds. While collecting the hour of exposures, there was a Falcon 9 launch from Cape Canaveral Space Force Base, 90 miles to the east. The engine plumes from the first and second stages were clearly visible.

Jupiter and her moons labelled. The shot was overexposed to highlight the moons (3 available).

Left to right, these are the Lagoon (Messier 8) and Triffid (M 20) nebulae. These nebulae are located in the constellation of Sagittarius and are surrounded by the stars of the Milky Way. Open Star Cluster Messier 21 should also be visible to the upper right of Triffid.

I am still figuring this hobby out, but I am really happy with this image.

This was taken with just over an hour of data from a location near Cherry Springs State Park in Pennsylvania, USA. These are very dark skies (Bortle 2 on the light pollution scale). No filters were used and very little processing was required. I was also very lucky because the clouds were not cooperative.

Salut,
