Seen written on a very large old mirror in the basement of a rental home we looked at (but didn't rent.) I felt it was a message for me so I included myself in the reflected image. Maybe it was left by whomever is the equivalent in my life of Clarence, George Bailey's angel, in the movie It's a Wonderful Life. Maybe someone else who sees this will feel the same.
Dedicated to my flickr-friend: goat mountain.
Indiana and Hungary. We live on a similar latitudinal circle!:-)
Tulip trees native to eastern North America, but there are a lot of amazing tulip tree in Europe too.
I am so lucky to have the best grandson in the world !
And I am so happy because I'm going to see him and his sisters soon :-)
68005 Defiant and 68021 Tireless have just popped down to Daventry to collect the 'messages' and are now on their way to Mossend. It's not quite 0630 and spitting with rain, the promise of good weather at 0500 was well and truly dashed by this time!

Lovely letters in glass bottles I found in Chelsea market. I liked the photo as is, so here it is the SOOC image :)
Hope everyone had a fun and fulfilling weekend!
If you zoom into this photo, you can see a few petroglyphs faintly carved on the surface boulder that was reportedly relocated from Vargas Plateau. In front of it are a few rocks with grinding mortars. They are located at the Ohlone cemetery fenced off restricted from public access. These petroglyphs are referred as Western Message Petroglyphs. According to some academic studies, they are most likely influenced by the European pioneers. Here is one of the article describing these glyphs: www.utahrockart2.org/pubs/proceedings/papers/36-02-Hilbis...
Can you see them?

About the Election: Let me just say, WOO HOO!!! This is good.
Bench 'out of use' sign at the very quiet Halesworth railway station, Suffolk. In fact none of the benches were to be 'used' even though hardly any passengers transit through here.

find what you love.
At the lake side of Lake Como this loving message from Ale reads "We will go forward and we will do it together"
A bloom with buds.
Standing for sweetness and loveliness, innocence and pure love, the white carnation is the historical good luck gift to women.
Cultivated for more than 2,000 years and named "flower of the gods," it was used to create garlands for ancient Greek ceremonies.
Renaissance-era paintings illustrate the tradition of the bride and groom exchanging white carnations at their wedding to signify the vow of faithfulness.
White carnations are still included in weddings because they symbolise pure love and good luck.
The flower also signifies courage, happiness and loyalty.
In many religions, white carnations are also used at funerals.
A white bouquet or casket spray at a funeral service imparts a message of peace and tranquility for the soul of the deceased.
The carnation is also classified as an edible flower. The petals, which have a peppery flavour, have been used to make the French liqueur Chartreuse since the 17th century. They were brought to America by early English settlers and were used to make teas as well as flavourings for preserves, jams and jellies.
Another popular use, still in practice today, is as a salad garnish.
It is the January birth month flower and the 1st wedding anniversary flower.
