-Messenger-

This blue angel belongs to a series created by Qu Guangci.

Their mission is to be messengers between Western and Eastern cultures. They wear the wings of Western angels but have the faces of people from the Orient..

We are invited to imagine the message

We stumbled upon a message from long ago canyon dwellers etched into the sandstone walls of a narrow canyon in Zion National Park. I wonder what meaning the person or persons who painstakingly inscribed these symbols in the rock walls meant to convey. The squiggly line could mean water or it might mean a snake or something else. I wonder if this is a message of triumph or a commemoration of a sorrowful event.

Along the side of the highway between Hobart and Launceston someone has left this message.

My Interplanetary Memories

Interplanetary Travel

As I track down the lost civilization of Plutonia, I feel like the protagonist of a sci-fi and sleuthing novel. A special sleuth on the trail of a lost civilization and tasked with finding them. Nor did I have a single piece of evidence that I would find the Plutonians. However, I had abandoned my main mission for a while in order to find them. This was my new assignment. The only result I reached in my research to find the Plutonians was a radio signal with the same frequencies from different planets. This radio signal was like morse code transmitted at different intervals and at different speeds. However, I had not yet deciphered the meaning of this radio signal. All I could reach was the location where the signal came from. Every time I visited the planet where these radio signals came from, all I came across was a new abandoned planet. After a while, I realize that I'm starting to see myself as part of this lost civilization. It was like I was the only one left from a lost civilization. And, in a way, my search for the lost civilization seemed to have turned into my search for my new home. I think the idea that little by little I would not be able to return to my own home was taking over me completely. This pushed me to seek a new living space. I was looking for my new home, far from home.

This series of intimate self-portraits has been a long time coming... it was my sister who was the "pretty one", the "thin one"... I grew up in her shadow... I was her little sister... never able to be mom's "favorite"... These are painful thoughts, years of feeling self-loathing... today I took these photos of myself with love & forgiveness, & thoughts of "I am beautiful"... chubby, but beautiful...

My heritage was my sense of myself as a "fat person"... not quite worthy of beauty & love. Feeling deep pains as I write this... but today is the day I fight back & say "It's OK to be fat"... It's beautiful if you feel beautiful inside, if you are loved deeply by a wonderful man & if you love yourself enough to forgive yourself for being "fat"...

I think these photos of myself are full of love & beauty... that's how I feel about [ME]... today.

SleepyOwl says: Oh, yes, the depth of the music layering really complements the depth of your personal revelatory journeying... You are so generous, Mary, to invite us to witness this transmutation of sorrow and painful memories. The video felt like an exorcism viewed through a kaleidoscope with its richness of shapes and colors, and at other moments there was the simple purity of free-fall flight -- into healing... I played the video a bunch of times -- first with the sound only, then with only the images, then integrated. Then on the fourth viewing I was struck with the message of the universality and the complexity and the power and the joy of human sensuality.

The message was simple:)

Not wanting to stress the animal too much, we took our leave soon after. But not before ensuring this individual safely continued its journey from the road verge into the adjoining bush. Unfortunately vehicles take a toll on these slow-moving creatures.

Today's Random Fact: February 3, 2009

My favorite Tarot deck and the book, "The Hidden Messages in Water", by Masaru Emoto, have changed the way that I view the power of water, and the effects that our words, our attitudes, and our intentions have on, not only ourselves, but on those with whom we interact. This book really was an exciting and eye-opening experience for me. The beautiful pictures and the expressions from which they are formed are nothing short of magical!

"I always stress that energy is vibrations and vibrations are life. Words are vibrations. Words, therefore, are life. Water is a medium that receives and understands even the subtlest vibrations. Water captures vibrations naturally. Even when these vibrations are in characters or letters representing language, water shows us the energy they contain in the forms of crystals. Water is attempting to communicate something to us. Negative emotions prevent the water from crystallizing. Positive emotions allow it to develop in beautiful hexagonal shapes."

"Water makes up 70% of our bodies, and there is little doubt to me that the information in the water goes a long way in the formation of our health as well as our attitude toward the world and the attitude of the world toward us."

-Masaru Emoto, The Hidden Messages in Water

After a tough workweek, this is the proper message to the world.

We´re looking forward to a laidback, calm and peaceful weekend now.
