Grillages sur le campus de la fac de Nanterre

Caught the sign message in front of Quiznos Sub, in PPG Palace, downtown Pittsburgh during lunch rush hour.

"Sorry, Our Oven is BROKEN. Only Salads, Soups & Cold Sandwiches Today!

And Our Credit Card Machine not Working Either."

For this photo, I increased the exposure on the sign and I also increased the saturation over the sky so the colors would pop.

children, who have only just come into this physical world, still carry with them a spiritual knowing and with that they really and truly ~SEE~ ... it is through the "growing up" that so much of that magical vision is pushed aside and / or ignored / supressed ...

There are however blessed numbers who make the decision to re-embrace this gift again later in life.

What do you see for your 2009 ahead? Take the time to have a look and really see ... create your vision of the year and hold on to it, feel it, be absorbed by it ... totally immerse yourself in the vision and then, yes then you will find yourself experiencing the year you had envisaged :-)

May 2009 reveal the realisation of your innermost dreams and desires, your innermost vision!!

Now here's one that excites me :-) The VISION has been EXPLORED !!! :-) Awesome! Thank you all ... I am so delighted because, well ... I really was rather pleased with this shot as such, and of course it's a portrait of a little boy I adore, and beyond all of that, I'd attached a message with it ... and so I'm delighted it's been put out there and received :-)

Every July, thousands of Bostonians gather at the Forest Hills Cemetery for a moving remembrance ceremony inspired by Buddhist rituals. Participants decorate lanterns with calligraphy or personal messages for departed friends and family and then, at sunset, light and launch them into Lake Hibiscus.

This ceremony is based on the traditional Japanese Bon Festival -- when a door is thought to open to the world of the ancestors, allowing the living to send messages to the other side.

Some of the messages and tributes, when observed closely, are truly heartbreaking.

Found on my bed when I woke up the day after my birthday party

It was the message taped on the front door that first attracted my attention:

"NO Flyers

(or I will run you down with my bike)."

I enjoyed the sense of humor behind the threat.

I took the photo.

I'm still amused.

My inbox, unaware it is empty, or perhaps out of spite, informs me I have 4.29 billion messages.

That'll teach me.

I'm covering a co-workers desk this week while she's on holidays. And that means I'm extra slow getting the messages off her phone. Sorry 'bout that Tess!

At the Cathedral of the Good Shepherd's premises, Queen Street for Catholic200SG Prayer.

A message found in the Botanic Gardens, Brisbane.

"You are the / most incredible / thing that has / ever happened / to me."

Because Vilimas' mother wasn't able to make the trans-Atlantic journey to the wedding, she recorded a greeting to the bride and groom which played on a laptop at the reception.

Some idiot wingnut runs a political rant on a photo of the DC anti-war protest. I comment that it was lame to do that. He starts nasty comments on my photos. After I block him and delete the comments, he opens up a new account to send me a nasty message, screen shot above.

The idiot wingnut? hopsmaltyeast

He calls me names and then tells me to have a blessed day? That is why I hate "Christian Creeps," to steal a term from James Wolcott.

He also tells me I misspelled a term I did not use, and then fails to spell "sir" correctly. Most Christian Creeps, and Republicans, are hypocrites, which he accuses me of. A little mirroring?

(I am not anti Christian, just anti "I am better than you because I know God's true vision" clowns.)

Since our boys weren't able to come with us on this trip, my wife and I photographed a few messages to them along the way... :)

"Poop is fascinating stuff, really! Some wild animals eat it, others use it to send messages, and some squirt it on themselves to cool off. Critters are not the only ones who find animal poop useful. Some people build homes with it, others use it as firewood, and some even toss it around for sport." -Dr. Wayne Lynch

Took the kids to the local museum to check out the new exhibit: The Scoop on Poop...the number one exhibit on number two. It was entertaining. Especially for the under twelve crowd. And educational. Now the gift shop at the end with its diverse poo and potty related items, I could've done without. Especially when my kids kept bringing me fake poop and asking to buy it. Ugh. Doesn't the dog give them enough of the real stuff?
