These signs appear in the underground garage where I work over the top of the fire escape doors. The red sign warns you not to enter the building when the fire alarm is sounding, and yet to escape the garage and reach the fire exit, you must first enter the building behind doors guarded by a flashing strobe and 'do not enter'. The worrying thing is that we're not talking of funny signs by amateurs here, but something approved by trained fire safety officers.

I saw this in a furniture shop in Shepherd's Bush and had to get a photo. What pushes it from plain hilarity into art is the "NO" on the switch, just in case you missed the other messages.... genius!

It's hard to read but we already know the sign in the center (similar to the cross) means life.

Below we can see the first concepts of mobile phones which unfortunatelly were not produced due to lack of LCD screens.

Consequently the mirrors had to be still used as communication means instead. :-)

At this Buddhist temple at Shewedagon Pagoda in Yangon, Burma, worhsippers have covered every square inch of the bark of this tree with messages to the Buddha. Millions of teeny-tiny Burmese letters cover this tree's trunk. The pagoda has been built around the tree, which grows theough the ceiling.

Sent to Dad after I was born. (He was on the USS Newman K Perry at the time.)
