This model has been inspired by Spirited Away. It was the first studio Ghibli movie I watched as a kid, so I need not say I was mesmerized by the beautiful animation and fantastic worldbuilding.

I was trying to encapsulate as many details from the movie as possible. Hope you will recognise most of them! You can also explore the inside by lifting each floor or opening the back wall.

This image of Plains (Burchell's) zebras was captured in the wild at Sunset Dam in the Kruger National Park.

Interesting info:

According to National Geographic: "No animal has a more distinctive coat than the zebra. Each animal's stripes are as unique as fingerprints—no two are exactly alike—although each of the three species has its own general pattern.

Why do zebras have stripes at all? Scientists aren't sure, but many theories center on their utility as some form of camouflage. The patterns may make it difficult for predators to identify a single animal from a running herd and distort distance at dawn and dusk. Or they may dissuade insects that recognize only large areas of single-colored fur or act as a kind of natural sunscreen. Because of their uniqueness, stripes may also help zebras recognize one another.

Zebras are social animals that spend time in herds. They graze together, primarily on grass, and even groom one another.

Plains (Burchell's) zebras are the most common species. They live in small family groups consisting of a male (stallion), several females, and their young. These units may combine with others to form awe-inspiring herds thousands of head strong, but family members will remain close within the herd.

Zebras must be constantly wary of lions and hyenas. A herd has many eyes alert to danger. If an animal is attacked, its family will come to its defense, circling the wounded zebra and attempting to drive off predators."

Went out on a Snowy Owl photo hunt today and found two. This one, perched high atop a power line, gave me a good looking over and absolutely mesmerized me with those amazing yellow eyes.

From my garden. I love this variety. The blooms are beautiful and there are multiple flowers per plant.

The beautiful beaches of Homer, Alaska during sunset at 10:30pm

Sometimes, I just sit there and watch life go by ...

Was on Explore for a very short time (no. 498 lol) for July 21, 2015.

Almost everybody has left. And the huge beach is empty…Shshshsh….There is an utmost colourful tranquility and silence, …. without !!!… And blessed serenity, within…

……….But, Nature was still performing its magical Palette and Light miracles those moments…..Because it had been lightly windy that day, and the cloudy sky-dancers were up … to creating in their own Artistic colourful mode…The spectacle was mesmerizing, like always in SUCH moments in Oostende!!!!…

Yep, that's what I was ... actually what I think that we both were. Frozen in time as well as this young fox kit emerges from its den andturns around to look at me. I just love young animals as they try to put together the pieces of the puzzle about their new world outside of their "home".

In time, this fox kit will grow up and be much more as they say ... "sly as a fox", but for now it's all about being inquisitive as it stretches its boundaries and gets ready for its independence. Got to love that.

Happy Tuesday everyone! Back to sunny skies here in western Colorado, coupled with colder temperatures, which should become more moderate in the next few days. Loving it ... except for my beautiful trees in the yard which almost completely dropped its not fully turned leaves due to the freeze. Well at least I won't cry over it like I almost did last year ... OK, so maybe a shed a few teardrops or two. LOL

Thanks for stopping by to view.

Mesmerizing Passion

"Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time." Thomas A. Edison

Photography is just that...a Mesmerizing Passion...a this self portrait, for me, translate exactly that :)

The Enol Lake in Asturies is a site for sore eyes. To get the chance to see it without heavy clouds and fog we had to go up there three times but it was worth it!

The Enol is part of the Lakes of Covadonga (el. 1134 m.) that are composed of two glacial lakes located on the region of Asturias, Spain. These lakes, often also called Lakes of Enol or simply Los Lagos, are Lake Enol and Lake Ercina located in the Picos de Europa range and they are the original center of the Picos de Europa National Park, created in 1918.

The road ascending from Covadonga to the lakes is a popular climb in professional road bicycle racing, having been used by Vuelta a España many times in the last 25 years.

This a truly fantastic and mesmerizing place and it certainly worth getting up that road three times in 24 hours:)
