Day 342 // Y4 // 03.02.2012

Seeing the amazing Paul Sartin performing with Bellowhead recently brought back my memories of playing the oboe when I was in college. Looking back through my photostream I have very few photographs to prove I ever played one (see here, here and uh, here), which is quite surprising to me!

So, I dug out my box of reeds (my lord, how many reeds does a girl need?!) and made a have started squeaking and squawking merrily along to myself sitting in my bedroom... And I love it. It was just the spark of enthusiasm that I rather desperately needed right now.

Week 5: Memory

ETA: No reeds were harmed in the making of this - believe it or not, they're all completely glitter-free and are working absolutely fine. Toot!

I am having great time and fun here with Mirka! But sort of missing Maine...this is exactly the time you realize you won´t see the nice people and places for quite a long time :´(

I remember taking this photo last fall on one of those cold, dark October days that signal rains to come. It was near dusk when I came upon this small clump of purple aster and was surprised to find several honeybees frantically gathering pollen. I forgot about that day with the splendor of autumn leaves that came later, and was surprised to find any of the bees in focus because they never stopped moving.

July 15, 2013, this picture along with my son made, in memory of the death of our beloved father/grandpa on this day, after a beautiful life and day is the sun now really gone under

Taken almost exactly one year ago, before my life changed drastically. This is to remember you by.

Edit By Adobe Lightroom 3

Went to a few gigs here mid nineties, I can't believe there's a plaque here now. There's not even one at what was once the Hacienda round the corner.

In memory of ...

I was curious about these. I remember being told by a friend when I first visited the French Quarters that these - shoes (owned by the deceased) thrown to hang loose at wires slicing through the middle of the street, symbolized remembrance by people whose friends have gone on "home"... to the great beyond.

In the Filipino culture, this, would be considered a "pabaon"...

There're a couple of pairs seen along Bourbon Street. It's been there since I can remember... Not even Hurricane Katrina was able to dislodge it from it's "sacred" perch...

(My friend Benz had a beautiful similar concept...)

I've been re-editing old photos lately; it's lots of fun! to see more of these, and admire some new css tweaks to the design (I'm proud of myself for figuring out some of that geeky stuff), head over to my blog.

i luved dis click......

Down the looming clouds, wen thought unites,

the mind starts thinking, wer the memories r shared alone...

i was reminded of the saying- “The soul that sees beauty may sometimes walk alone.”

Just Njoyed the click...

I seem to have lost one, the green is the only one with photos on it.

This is an integrated camera toss... All images were the result of a camera that was thrown in the air (no teathering)...

Another of my surprisingly large stock of photos of Port Quin taken in July when we had our two days of summer! It was a beautiful day - somwhere in the mid 70's from my fading memory. The coast path winds away over the far headland with about a two mile walk to Port Isaac.

Dreams, like memories, sometimes have to be put away for safekeeping... perhaps in their own dreamy frames...
