A westbound commuter pulls in to Fairview with a midday train. I grew up about a mile north of Fairview (in fact I still live there) and so the throaty sound of units are etched in my memory. Believe me, Metra’s F40’s do not sound the same!

This effect is achieved by adding oil painting (I just learned) and layering stone and bamboo texture (myself).
Most everyday I drive by this school and always recall my primary school days here, it hasn't changed much apart from some renovations.
Heathfield Primary School was built in 1931 and it is still being used as a primary school, today!

January is always a time when we look back on the previous year and recall favourite moments. So over the next few posts i will do just that.
This was a lovely Afternoon Tea at Stors Park Hotel in the Lake District in April 2024.

Taj Mahal is a white Marble mausoleum located in Agra, India. It was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The Taj Mahal is widely recognized as "the jewel of Muslim art in India and one of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage." Taj Mahal is the finest example of Mughal architecture, a style that combines elements from Persian, Turkish and Indian architectural styles. In 1983, the Taj Mahal became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. While the white domed marble mausoleum is the most familiar component of the Taj Mahal, it is actually an integrated complex of structures. The construction began around 1632 and was completed around 1653, employing thousands of artisans and craftsmen.
Soon after the Taj Mahal's completion, Shah Jahan was deposed by his son Aurangzeb and put under house arrest at nearby Agra Fort. Upon Shah Jahan's death, Aurangzeb buried him in the mausoleum next to his wife.

Along with everybody else

The look in their eyes
It may be difficult to tell
If your looking at yourself
And you look fine

That gaping hole that's on your face
A black hole that's out of place
And out of time

To find something smart to say

Whenever we drink a bottle of wine, my wife and I write what we were
doing, thinking or where we were when we opened it. Sometimes mundane,
sometimes monumental, we love to look back on our time together by
perusing the corks as if they were an old box of photos. "Oh, remember
that...?"
In Memory Attilavert
I Photo shopped this from Attilavert photo stream to honor his passing. We became online friends here on Flickr because of our shared love for soft sole Moccasins / Ballet Slippers and other types of soft sole foot ware. We also shared an interest in the Native American culture. It is with deep regret that I never found the time to get to know him better. I believe that we had a lot more in common and would have become closer friends.
Attilavert always posted positive comment on other’s photos. If he could help in any way he would do so. The photos he posted if his wife Jeannie and himself have given me and many other hours of pleaser. He will be missed but not forgotten.

In memory of Brooke Lambert MA Vicar of this Parish 1872-1878 born 17th day of September 1834 died 5th day of January 1901.
Morris & Co (1861-1947).
The firm was set up in 1861 by William Morris (1834-1896) as Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co, originally with (among others) Edward Burne-Jones, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Ford Madox Brown and Philip Webb. From 1865 the workshops were in Bloomsbury, and when in 1875 the firm changed its name to Morris & Co, Burne-Jones became the principal designer. In 1881 the workshops moved again, to Merton Abbey. Revolutionary in its beginnings, and extremely influential in terms of design and quality, the firm finally closed in 1947.
