My late Father working in his electric motor repair shop. He rewound electric motors starting as a teenager and raised a family from it for the rest of his life. This was taken on April 13th, 2011 with my AIPTEK VGA pencam digital camera. It has a modest .3 megapixel quality.

Features
12.3-megapixel CMOS sensor: This Nikon D90 camera body features a DX-format CMOS image sensor that provides the highest level of performance. Its integrated A/D converter enables selection between 12-bit and 14-bit conversions. The sensor design supports the broad light sensitivity range of ISO 200 to ISO 3200, and features refined high-ISO noise reduction.
3.0" LCD monitor: A high-resolution, super-density, 920,000-dot LCD monitor makes critical image review possible. This monitor also allows ultra-wide, 170-degree viewing in all directions.
Live view: You’ll also have a live preview of your subject, giving you point-and-shoot feel with the quality of a DSLR.
11-area AF: The sensor module offers an 11-area AF that ensures consistently fast and precise focus lock under varying shooting conditions. The wide area AF system gives greater compositional freedom when shooting sports and action.
4.5fps continuous shooting: Capture fast action and fleeting expressions. The D90 can shoot up to 4.5 frames per second.
Scene Recognition System: This system recognizes subject and scene conditions prior to capturing the shot. Enjoy improved subject tracking and subject identification for rapid and accurate focus area selection. Highlight analysis optimizes auto exposure by providing more accurate control. Light source inference studies both subject and pattern to achieve optimal white balance.
HD movie mode: Capture your surroundings in cinematic quality. The D90 features the D-Movie mode, which shoots HD movie with sound at 24fps.
D-Lighting enhancement: This technology compensates for underexposed images or insufficient flash by automatically adding light and detail to selected shots where needed, without affecting properly exposed areas.

If the window looks to be only a short height from the *floor* it's because it was. I lived on the 3rd floor of a historic building. There was a mezzanine and a roof top area, not for the whole building, just part of it. That area had some skylights, and some rather shabby looking roofing (though actually like a floor) material. Basically the mezzanine pushed up the height of the second floor, and thus the top part of the second floor was right beneath my window on the 3rd floor. Someone could easily have broken the window and jumped right on in.

Yet more photos and more final edits! I was up at 4:30 AM the past four days shooting sunrises! Awesome sunrises over Point Dume thie time of year in Malibu.
Then I spent all day today moving over 75 large photos into the gallery! Most of these are framed and matted with 13"x19" metallic prints and an 18"x24" mat and a 3" wood-grain black frame! They look awesome! Stop on by Bel Air Camera's Gallery downstairs if you are close to UCLA or in Westwood. Give me a head's up, and I will meet you there if I'm free.
I thought I was done a couple days ago for December's LA Gallery show, but art is never done until it's done, and even then. . . Will be busy printing and framing in nice large, matted formats and frames and museum glass! Five of these photos will be printed on 40" x 60" floating wall mounted metal sheets! I think I know which--will share photos of the photos hanging on the walls!
And I am mounting some on plexiglass/acryllic--front mounting them! Some I am printing on lossy fuji-crystal archival paper too, and then front mounting 40"x60" versions to plexiglass--will send photos!
The secret to HDR photography is that you want people to say, "Woe dude--that's unreal!" And not, "Dude--that's not real!" "Unreal" is the word they use when they're trying to figure out the photo--what makes it cool--is it a photo? Is it painted? How'd it come to be--how'd you bend the light that way? "That's not real," is what they say if you have the saturation/HDR/ etc. turned up too high. :)
Some (almost) final edits for December's Los Angeles Gallery Show! Printing them on metallic paper at 13" x 19" and mounting and framing them on a 4mm 18x24 white mat and 2" dark wood frame. Also printing some 40" x 70" whihc is over three feet by five feet! Wish you all could come (and hang out with the goddesses)!

Owing to coronavirus lockdowns, and a broken foot, I have not been taking photos for months.
Decided to try re-processing some old photos. This original 14 MP image was taken with a Nikon 1 V2 and the 1 Nikkor 6.7-13mm wide angle lens.
This is the pond at the West of the Lake Gardens, Two Rivers, Wisconsin. Absolutely beautiful place.
Initial processing was in DxO PL, then run through Topaz Denoise AI, and then into Topaz Gigapixel AI using a 4x image conversion, which works out to a 16x megapixel increase (14 x 16) or ending up with a 224 megapixel image. Probably didn't need to run through Denoise AI - its a low ISO image and DxO PL already ran its Prime NR function.
Now, its not really a 224 MP image but it really does look sharper at normal viewing sizes.
There's something about the Nikon 1 V2 that makes it a fun camera. It's tiny, lenses are tiny. It's 1 inch sensor does a really good job. The while package is so convenient. But 14 MP feels a little dated now - yet with new software technology, we can get more out of older photos - in fact, after processing, the 14 MP photos routinely compete with my 20 MP images from micro four thirds cameras. Thus, software processing extends the usefulness of this old V2 camera.

Some (almost) final edits for December's Los Angeles Gallery Show! Printing them on metallic paper at 13" x 19" and mounting and framing them on a 4mm 18x24 white mat and 2" dark wood frame. Also printing some 40" x 70" whihc is over three feet by five feet! Wish you all could come (and hang out with the goddesses)!

Thanks to Keith Moon, developer of iPhone app Instant Tweetup as well as my own City Poems and Geo Poems for taking this snap. This was taken in bright sun with strong shadows which must be taken into account. I tend to look at three things: the sharpness of the foreground, the figure on the back of the building on the left and the degree to which you can read the number and letters on the shop at the back. This is well up with most of the other 5 megapixel camera phones (and the 8mp ones as well as they aren't obviously better) . . . but judge for yourself.

2 megapixels. Ektanar 6.5-13mm (30-60mm 35mm equivalent) f3-3.8 zoom lens - 2x optical zoom, with 3x digital zoom available. Storage on CompactFlash cards; the box proudly announces "now with 8Mb card"!. Picture size max is 1760x1168. The DC240 is similar but with max size of 1280x960 (1.2Mp) and fewer features (such as no ISO adjustment).

I have nearly got this working; it was clogged up with what looked like dried-on cake with pink icing when I got it.
Shot with the Nokia Lumia 1020. Given a maximum of 120 seconds of adjustments in Aperture with no heroic rescues.
