FriendFeed meetup at Five Guys. Actually, we were in Gamestop at this point. They had just finished a Street Fighter tournament. They gave us bandannas and took our picture.
We had a blast at the first meetup for Tam Makers, our new makerspace in Mill Valley. We hosted this free event at the wood shop at Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley on June 8, 2016.
A diverse group of people came to the visit the shop, learn about our classes and discuss how to grow our maker community. Participants ranged from experienced artists, technologists, makers and woodworkers, to people interested in learning new skills, as well as high school and middle school students and their parents.
We opened the shop at 6pm and folks started to connect right away, checking out some of our demos, showing off recent projects and touring the space. At 7pm, we gave a presentation on Tam Makers, and talked about our first courses, meetups and tools for adults and youth. We then discussed these programs as a group and received some really helpful feedback.
Most people were very interested in participating in Tam Makers and using the makerspace regularly. They also liked the mix of classes, ranging from maker art to technology and woodworking. Some people signed up for classes on the spot and most wanted to join more meetups. Many offered to volunteer as well. One person said this event had a great community feeling, unlike more commercially motivated makerspaces.
We’re really happy that this first meetup went so well and that so many folks want to participate actively. We look forward to collaborating with our new maker friends very soon!

The DMUBoston Meetup was over a year ago and I'm still posting photos from it.
Simmons Hall, designed by Steven Holl and dedicated in 2002, is one of the dormitories at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. At the cost of $78.5 million, it is MIT's most expensive dorm. There are a total of 5500 2' x 2' windows like those shown here on the facade of the building in addition to several larger, irregular windows. Each window is inlayed 18" from the surface of the building to allow the winter sun to heat the building and to create shade from the summer sun. The windows- of which there are, on average, nine in each dorm room- are notable for creating a sort of Faraday cage, which blocks cell phone signals.
Another major architectural flaw that is frequently noted is the poor floor layout. The building is roughly divided into three "towers" (A, B, and C), but for students in A tower to reach the dining hall, they must either (i) take two elevators OR (ii) walk the entire length of the building twice (over 1/8 of a mile). Additionally, the staircases don't reach every floor.
According to Wikipedia- which as you know is the most reliable source of information on the internet- "Due to the architectural attention given to this building, architects are sometimes found trying to observe student life in the building, an occurrence that the students strongly resent.

On Thursday night i went to a MIlford Photo Meetup photo shoot which was a paparazzi style shoot with red carpet and all, all be it red paper, was a fun shoot and I posted a few shots to the group

A decent number of my pics turned out not so great. I was a bit worried I would knock over someone else's doll as it was close quarters, so I didn't get the greatest photos this time. C'est la vie! ;)
