First test roll from Diana. The pictures came out pretty good but the viewfinder inaccuracy cause the cut off of the top part of the pictures. Well, a fun little "Plastic Fantastic" toy camera.

Today in the mail I received my "new" used Bronica SQ-A that I ordered from keh.com. Purchased an 80mm S series lens, speed grip and 120 back. I'm quite excited about this camera - all manual operation, no metering, uses film, no frills and best of all it's medium format. For those unfamiliar, medium format refers to the size of the film that you shoot on. Traditionally people are most aware of 35mm, which is 3.5cm. This particular camera shoots 6x6cm which means the film is nearly twice the size of 35mm. The advantage here is that you preserve a lot of detail in the image when you have a larger negative.

I'm really excited to venture away from the Holga and the DSLR and start doing some serious medium format photography.

Plunder from raids on the local charity shops. Velbon tripod, all metal and very sturdy, made in Japan in the 1980s from good quality metal - ideal for heavy cameras. Cable release, date and manufacturer unknown, made in Japan from obviously good quality materials - has a locking collar that can be set to lock automatically.

Cable release £6, tripod (perversely) £10 sterling.

I've modified it to use 35mm and 220 film. The cheapest and best 120 Holga I own. I use a detachable Holga hotshoe color gel flash with it.

The first Brownie was a very significant camera in the history of photography. It changes the way people take picture. Also, the No.2 was introduced with a new type of roll film, the 120 film of which still being made today and now know as medium format film.

I have soft spot for the Kodak Brownie box cameras after I picked up my first Brownie about 10 years ago, a No.2 Model E. Every since then I kept an eye out for nice Brownie and other box cameras.

And here is the first test roll from my new "old" Kodak Brownie No.2 Model F (1924-1933) all 8 frames from it (it is 6X9 format and you only get 8 shots per roll) After I did some restoration on it, cleaning, glued back the mirror in one of the view finder and etc the camera still work fine after all these years. (Picture of the camera coming soon)

I was really happy to see this shot turned out well from my last trip with the lubitel. This was actually a test roll- as you may remember, it broke. I repaired it, and needed to determine if the repair held light properly. It did - the leak on the top is actually completely unrelated and has always been there. It wavers depending on how tightly I am holding the camera :)
