We will use a number of materials in this project. We will use the creek, human bodies, 2 liter soda bottles made to look like salmon, and paint. Our medium will be a mixture of performance and sculpture, with photography being used to capture and display the work. The shapes and colors of the sculptures we build will be that of a coho salmon, silver and red. We don't intend for our materials to be in the river longer than it takes to capture the photographs (especially the human materials--me--the water is cold!) because we don't want to disturb the salmon habitat in an area that really won't be seen by many people. I think documenting our materials in detail will do a number of things for us. It has already helped in brainstorming more ideas. It helps us look at how the art we intend to make actually communicates the message we are trying tell. It will help others understand how we went about creating our art. And it will help us to remember what we have brought into the environment so we can remove it all.

A mixture of portraits and landscapes taken with my Mamiya C330 and a mixture of Ilford HP5 and Delta

The man in the yellow costume is a medium, dressed as Ji Gong, the Drunken Monk. People can ask him to help them with personal matters, and he seemed very busy channeling Ji Gong's spirit to give advice to a succession of believers. The man in brown was asking questions, being sprayed with alcohol from the medium's mouth, and being given answers that were noted by an assistant.

This "yummy" medium sized bag looks wonderful with the top portion in a paisley print in shades of browns ranging from light brown to a deep rich chocolate. It is accented with gold metalic threads to give it that little pop!

The bottom portion is a light brown faux suede fabric and this same fabric makes up the accent ties on the shoulder straps. This bag is fully lined, with two pockets inside to hold all your "little" things and closes with a magnetic snap.

The bag measures approximately 9 X 15 inches (22.86 X 38.1cm). The strap has a 9 ½ inch (23cm) drop which makes the bag good for either a handbag or shoulder bag.

New camera, a present from Jim. YEAH!
