newspaper headlines, beeswax, fabric dye on board. 2’x8’ (2006)
I collect newspapers from the street and the garbage and tear out the most intriguing headlines. I then attach and layer them on a board with hot beeswax. While building up layers I use the encaustic technique to smooth the wax. I dye some of the paper with fabric dye to make the stripes and melt cut black letters to the top of the stripes.

My bungled first roll out of my Kiev 6C. Things I notice: I suck at metering, having the back pop unexpectedly isn't a good thing, I need to practice a lot more and slow down.
