Mamiya RB67 - 127mm f3.8 Sekor C - Kodak Ektar 100

A real sleeper of a medium format camera sporting a superfast 80mm/f2.0 lens. Supposedly designed by the same guy who designed the F1. Camera is weighted superbly, and very easy to handhold (it was designed for handholding as a press/PJ camera). Has a cloth focal plane shutter with speeds up to 1/500th. Lens is breech lock mount.

Just recently got this for a great price and am putting it through its paces this weekend. There was a waist level finder made for this camera but they are hard to find.

This one shot with Fujifilm Pro 160NS.

Straight out from the HCL CD, no post processing.

1 of 5. Second batch came back. This time developed @ HCL. Disappointed!! Not sure what to do from here, sort of lost....Is it the film? Is it the development and scan that is done poorly? Or did i just not setting the exposure right!? Last batch developed from National Photo was much better.....this time lots of under underexposed shots as well. The scans are all very grainy.

Pls Help!!

Blue Hill Meteorological Observatory, operating since 1885, sits atop The Great Blue Hill, 635 feet above sea level. It is home to the oldest continuous weather record in North America.

Haven't been shooting much film as of late, but on this day I only took along my Fuji medium format camera (forgetting to take a light meter with me, of course) as I hiked up to get this picture.

Photo of my very first medium format roll, photographed by a Pentacon Six TL.

There is still one more photo that I will upload from that roll...

Made from lego technic, 18x 2p coins (which weigh 6g each), and some pieces of masking tape.

Perfect size for both 6x6 and 6x7 negs.

Modified to add more space for the coin weights especially for colour film. My home-developed C41 and E6 films tend to curl more than my B&W negs: this is caused by the temperature differential between the developing temperature and the final stages and drying temperature. One solution might be to warm up the stablizer bath but it might be more effective to use a heated drying cabinet. Since I don't currently have one, the easier way is simply to build a more effective flattening scanning mask. 120 is much less fiddly to digitise with a DSLR than 35mm, for which I now use a Negative Supply carrier so I can do a full roll in one go before even sleeving it. I don't see huge benefit in a dedicated 120 carrier given that this little setup should work perfectly. For huge numbers of rolls of 120 to scan obviously a more speedy solution might be beneficial.

I now digitise all the 120 film with Nikon D800E and 200mm f/4 micro-nikkor macro lens, on a tripod with Novoflex Castel-L focusing rail. I place my small 5x7 light panel on a book on the floor and do a 3-shot FX stitch of each exposure, simply by sliding the book. I previously used my 85PC-E, but there's no benefit to using that because it only focuses down to 1:2 so I can get more resolution out of the 200mm lens. It would be quite possible to squeeze even more with the 200mm lens by focusing closer and doing more frames for the stitching, but I'm very unlikely to need the resolution.

A full-size image with the 3-frame stitch is about 7000x7000px (~ 49mpx).

Medium format goodness. ODC, January 20, 2022 THREE OF A KIND.

Had issues with film advancing correctly on my SLX; thought it was the camera, but looks like it might be contacts on the 6x6 back since 645 worked fine. Thank goodness.

All done with D76, using Rodinal now. Liking the Rodinal so far... still think HC-110 is my favorite.

Eleven Madison Park - Restaurant Interior - Medium Format Film

11 Madison Ave, New York, NY photographed 09/21/2021 by Daniel Krieger for The New York Times.

Wow, this this is large and takes AMAZING photos, its heavy, its all manual, including focus, light metering, etc.. But these medium format cameras take amazing photos, more detail and larger files (once the negatives are scanned) than digital. Will post some photos from it soon.

Phil, April 07- too green i know i will fix it one day

From one of the first B&W rolls in the Pentacon 6x6.

It's still interesting to me to take the same shot with digital and film and compare the differences. This one is by far more interesting and is much closer to what I wanted when I shot both.

Ilford FP4 plus 125ISO (4f @ 1/125th)

Knights Valley, Sonoma County

Two Oak Trees and Yellow Mustard with pastoral hills. Mt Saint Helena is just out of frame to the right.

I found this camera in beautiful cosmetic condition. It came in an equally well preserved leather case, the top of which was unfortunately missing. Variants of this camera were produced over a period of over 30 years. Its usual name is the Isolette, but some were called Ysolette, or Jsolette. My example seems to be a model V from the early 1950s. It worked well but proved to have a non fatal light leak, so I had to do some cropping.

Really looking forward to putting some 120 film through this beauty :) Couldn't afford a Hasselblad or Pentax 6x7II but this was in my price range :) It's almost twice the size of my DSLR the Nikon D90. For anyone interested.

"Medium Format 645 has approximately three times the area of 35mm leading to bigger enlargements with less grain, higher quality and much smoother transitions."
