Dallas McDermott Bridge Reflection Pano - The new Margaret McDermott Bridge in downtown Dallas with skyline at twilight. We captured this after a rain storm so there was water for a nice reflection of the city and bridge. This is a steel bridge suspended with two arches over the Trinity River previously IH30 and is part of the Trinity project partially designed by Santiago Calatrava. This bridge is also designed to accomodate a pedestrian and bike path to join the the area other hike and bike trails. It was a twilight view from here but not an easy shot I had to climb up the side of levy then down again on the other side and then wade into the water to capture this image of the Dallas skyline with the McDermont bridge to create this nice reflection, I think it was worth it.
Sometimes when you've no one to photograph you just have to remember where you put your remote control and you're in business........
I've been using Gimp all these years and today I got Photoshop.
I haven't even opened it yet.
I'm a little nervous about using it and hope that I can manage to get the hang of it ok.
Or it's right back to my trusty ole Gimp

Here's another photo for my Darklands Set. I used the same post processing procedure on them and that's why I've grouped them all together. Have a wonderful day ;-)

Captured as a McDermott 214B1 Helitak lifts off having taken on water.
The child, awe struck with seeing these in action, is pictured shielding himself from the very considerable rotor wash (not the blade pitch).

Somewhere just west of the Scioto River crossing outside of Portsmouth.
A little #throwback action from the summer of 1985. Norfolk Southern hosted a steam passenger excursion, pulled by Norfolk & Western 611, from Portsmouth, Ohio to Cincinnati over the "Peavine" branch. I intended to chase the train for a few miles out of Portsmouth, but didn't find a stopping place and wound up chasing it all the way to Cincinnati.

For my project 7 theme, I decided to take photos of doors. I think doors can be very unique and look very cool in some circumstances. I found some really cool ones in my town!

this was actually a little hard to take
it was really nice and foggy when i took this last set of photos... i figured traffic would be nothing. but i had to wait light after light cars trucks and a couple of buses causing light streaks (beautiful but not for HDRs)
so many crazy crackheads and drunks were out that night
some would come up to me ask what i was doing and then would ask for money or smokes... so i just made sure i looked weird pacing around my camera and then everyone left me alone :D
