Over the last year, I was hired by DIJK Agency based in Nuremberg, Germany, to create some casual imagery to start advertising their maté tea client Puerto Mate from Switzerland. Those images have been used for Instagram only.

Architects Lederer, Ragnarsdóttir and Oei enthused about the Church of Christ's Resurrection, which was designed by Gottfried Böhm in 1968 and completed in 1970: "An incomparably beautiful architectural sculpture that we encounter with admiration and amazement (...)". The story of their new school building in Cologne-Lindenthal, in which apartments are also integrated, necessarily begins with this church. The corner building with a brick facade is structurally connected to it - in a way that will certainly trigger different opinions among architects: LRO deliberately chose no joint - the "academic solution" - but continued the facade a bit. The visual gap then only follows between this extension and the canteen, which the architects describe as the "pragmatic solution".
The L-shaped building has different building heights. It rises highest at the corner. There are ten apartments on the upper floors, which can be accessed independently of the school. Two further volumes connect at right angles, so that the building encloses a courtyard with old trees.
In the direction of the church is the canteen, a one-storey room with a continuous skylight all around. Its roof shell seems to float above the walls. This is made possible by a construction made of lattice girders, which is visible in the interior. There, two large, opposite arched windows open both to the inner courtyard and to the green area in front of the opposite facade.
The gap between the canteen and the extension forms a lower space, which also allows passage from the park to the courtyard. Here is the entrance for the students of the Liebfrauenschule, whose building is on the other side of the small park. The choir rehearsal room is located in the second wing of the building – a semicircle that can be seen on the facade. It is indirectly illuminated by lateral light slits and skylights.

Ballet and architecture have one thing in common: The right attitude posture is important. With this building concept, the Munich architects Burger Rudcas won the competition for the new building of the renowned ballet school John-Cranko in Stuttgart.
The jury particularly appreciated the successful examination of the property's hillside and the high quality, variety and separation of functional areas. Following the urban development strategy, the building can be accessed from two sides - and thus gained two new addresses: The ballet school with boarding school on the top of Werastraße, the rehearsal stage below on Urbanplatz.
The building complex encompasses a wide variety of uses, from the large rehearsal hall to eight smaller dance halls and adjoining boarding rooms for 75 ballet students. Burger Rudacs stagger four other building segments on top of the rehearsal stage, each 18 meters deep and parallel to the slope up to the entrance level on Werastraße. Each of these one-story segments houses a large and a small ballet hall.
For the facade, Burger Rudacs decided for double-shell exposed concrete walls with a lying board structure. The material should underline the clarity of the structure and strengthen the public character of the school.

SNOW IN STUTTGART
In Stuttgart, we don't take out our skis when it snows, we take out our bikes!
Lulu - an athlete sponsored by Specialized and Wahoo - and I had been talking about this picture series for quite a while already, once we found out that we live in the same city. We wanted to shoot gravel bike pictures in the snow. On Tuesday, a day before the shoot, we could not find any snow in Stuttgart, so we were actually quite bummed and were about to call off this shoot. But then, the next morning it started snowing so heavily that within three hours, the whole city was covered in snow. So we returned to our shooting plan, took our bikes and climbed up two hills in the metropolitan area.
Thanks nature, your timing was right on!

On my last training ride with Louise, we stopped at a watergate in Poppenweiler to capture a few casual cycling shots. She loves to ride in this area along the river Neckar, so it was obvious to photograph her right there!
We only had 20 minutes to spare due to her tight schedule that day. Nonetheless, we took a handful of usable images. I am looking forward to riding and taking pictures with her again in the future!

This pictures series has been taken on an assignment for an agency from Munich (Stromberger PR). I was hired to capture the hotel as clean and architectural as possible to emphasize the design character of the hotel. Other unique selling points of the hotel are the food as well as the view you can enjoy while dining and relaxing in the outside area.

The Campusbad in Ludwigsburg, built by Lehmann Architekten GmbH, is the new school and club pool, which is located at a location that is within walking distance in the inner city campus. The campus pool has two swimming pools, a large pool measuring 25 mx 16.66 meters and a teaching pool measuring 10 m x 16.66 meters.
The swimmer pool is suitable for competition and an ideal sports facility for swimming athletes as well as for swimming lessons at the Ludwigsburg schools.
The roof structure consists of 18 steel beams each spanning 24m. The new bathroom visually fits into the existing building. It has a bright clinker brick facade in the lower area and is clad with glass on the four sides. The bathroom with a flat roof appears simple and functional.
