Screens have always been a measured, controlled distance for me. I’ve grown up alongside the changing digital landscape, from vice to necessity, for better or worse. I have been everyone and no one online; I have been naively vulnerable and rigidly cryptic. I sarcastically joke about “my stint with agoraphobia” years ago because it’s easier than explaining the painful terror of that kind of isolation. Now it’s a global stint. Now it’s more screen time for everyone, the place that’s been my home inside my home since we had to hum along to dial-up. I think now about the nostalgic sounds of doors opening when people were available to you and closing when they weren’t. I open and close the doors between myself with others as a second nature and I weave in and out of my connectivity along the way. Do you know me? Can you ever know me? Would I even let you?

Made for the 2013 MocOlympics over at Mocpages, where my category was to make a scene from Matrix: Reloaded.

The Moc takes place at the Chateau, where Neo fights off the Merovingian's men. While not the best movie, it has some amazing fight scenes.

This is the original matrix console from the Athena. I repurposed it for the Ganesha and it remains the oldest moc I still have built. The chair has since been changed and the operator head was updated as well.

and it took me a while to come up with a photo that i could tie into my list of 10 random facts about me.. but here goes

1. i used to be considered "emo" in high school but have since crossed over into the light :)

2. i'm still super shy and not confident in many social situations

3. besides giving birth.. quitting smoking is the hardest thing i've ever done (8 years smoke - free now)

4.i'm addicted to booty...

yes pirate's booty.. sour cream and onion flavor

5. i was blonde for most of my 20s

6. if i coud pick 3 famous bffs they would be tim gunn, oprah and the dalai lama

7.i live 20 minutes from NYC (manhattan) and i rarely go

8. i took metalsmithing and jewelry making classes in NYC, but that art form is on hold til my son gets older

9. i still have a crush on keanu reeves ever since bill n ted's ( holy crap i'm old!!)

10.' the matrix' is my all time favorite movie.. because of the awesome deep spiritual message about waking up and finding the savior inside

ok.. so i also had a double inspiration.. thinking about the matrix.. how the internet is like the matrix..how we are all connected..and how we influence each other.. how together we create these worlds.. these infinite worlds with infinite possibilities.. and also like in the matrix.. and how the internet is a physical manifestation of the energy matrix of life

There is a difference between knowing the path & walking the path.
