Taken in Mr. Hanson's class near the end of the school year. I don't think the date on the camera is correct.

When maths comes in my internship... I'm not a big fan about it. But hey, what can I do? Computer science is all about mathematics!

Vlad was always always always doing math. I told him that when we tour the world I would take pictures of famous sites and in each of them he would be seen scribbling on a bit of paper. Hours later he emerged from math land to laugh at what I'd said, saying yeah it would be a neat visual illusion, the Eiffel Tower would seem to be the background but in fact it would be him that was the background. (This is the same guy who told me that his bed is parabolic in cross section.)

One of my jobs as his assistant was taking math dictation... usually at the computer (see Paisley Doodle Journal set) but when we were traveling I would do it by hand. He taught me the vocabulary and symbols but I HAD NO CLUE what any of it meant. I am unable to fully verbalize how much I loved working for him. Anyway half of this page is his writing and half is mine as dictated to me by him. It's all greek to me.

"Can you find an easier strategy for figuring how many cubes are in each structure?"

She was writing numbers and barking out what they added up to. Addition and subtraction just happened recently, to the surprise of both her parents. The problems usually involve puppies (i.e., if you have 5 puppies, and then you get 4 more puppies, etc.), which I suppose shouldn't surprise me...although we've never had more than three puppies at a time.
