3rd graders at Linwood in Milwaukie, Oregon practiced being active learners, persisting through problems and working through multiple drafts of a creation with movement artist Jan Abramovitz. Students created their own pictograms and word-based math problems and gave them to a partner or group to solve through choreography. Through this process, they gained enthusiasm for multi‐step math problems, and committed to creative problem solving through dance.

I wish someone with some real decorating talent would take this idea and make it as cute as it is in my head. It seems like it could be a fun/educational project to do with kids. My kids have fur and tails, so my lack of skill doesn't effect them. I actually did one with the entire quadratic equation written across it...but...it didn't turn out too hot :-)
