i used to wonder why my parents would take such a long time doing things around the house. things as simple as hanging frames seemed to take forever. i thought they were ridiculous.

 

today, however, i was put to the task of helping with these photo being hung in our office. i sat down to start to do the math, and then i realized why this takes so long.

Day one of The Women's Museum's summer camp Adventures in Science. The Adventures in Science summer enrichment camp is geared towards young girls throughout the Dallas Metroplex ages 11-16. The Museum’s goal is to provide a week long science enrichment [science, technology, engineering, math, etc.] program for girls that will expose them to various science related career fields and exciting experiments and science projects

More than 30 elementary students in kindergarten through second grade recently explored math through art, physical activity and music as part of BU’s annual Math Camp, which also helped participating education majors learn fundamental themes for math learners.

 

It’s a collaborative benefit, according to Frank D’Angelo, assistant professor of early childhood and adolescent education, who says through the math camp BU’s education program is helping local elementary students get ready for the new school year. bloomu.edu/news-math-camp
