In the fall of 2013 I was a volunteer in Tanzania and Kenya for four months. This photo was taken in Tanzania while I was working at a day care/kindergarten. I took a picture of each of the children and then I went to get them printed out in two copies. One for the kindergarten and one that they could keep for themselves. Many of the children were very shy, but some gave me smiles like you wouldn’t believe. This is Tamali. Tamali taught me to count to twenty in Kiswahili and I don’t think I will forget it for a long time because of her.
