Yes, I am easily entertained. We like to dress KC up in her babushka and sing "Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match" (Fiddler on the Roof). All I could find today was a western bandana...lol. Link to the original song:

BTW, my PUSH photo for next week is a high contrast b/w portrait of KC. Hmmmm...I'm already in the dog house for this one. Wonder how many days it will be before I can approach her with the camera again. :) i hate that I cut her paws out of the frame, but...there's only so much you can do when you're shaking the food dish with one hand and shooting with other. I was lucky to catch the light! You can tell by her whiskers that she's barely tolerating the indignity. She looks like a seal! :)

Hanna Beth swept the room in a low-cut teal satin blouse. The slinky fabric clung to her curves like it had chosen her, flowing over her breasts in a way that seemed to make men forget their wives and women forget their caution. Each movement made the blouse ripple and shimmer, the folds rearranging like a lover’s hand searching for her nipples.

Hanna Beth wasn’t here to find love; she was the hostess... The smiling face of a high-end matchmaking service for billionaires, but matchmaking was just a facade. The reality?... Strategic pairings for corporate blackmail. She engineered connections that could merge companies, destroy careers, sway government votes… or break a person’s life into neatly exploitable assets.

And the blouse was bait.

They came to her: bored men with restless eyes, desperate women with restless ambitions who hadn't been laid in months, maybe years. They leaned in, offering drinks and secrets in equal measure. She listened, she smiled, and she filed each whisper away.

Across the room, she spotted Robert Ashcroft, the oil magnate who had devoured two competitors in eighteen months. He was already deep in conversation with a flame-haired pharmaceutical heiress. Hanna Beth’s lips curved; if she played it right, that pairing was worth tens of millions. All she’d had to do was make sure they ended up in bed together in one of her private rooms.

Not every match she made was for profit. Some were for destruction.

Julian Kane, a tech CEO with a taste for attractive married women, was seated next to Lydia Collins, the sex-starved wife of a political lobbyist whose loyalty was crucial to an upcoming deal. As Hanna Beth passed, she adjusted her blouse so it gaped a little wider, just enough for Julian’s gaze to follow the plunge of satin. Lydia noticed... Oh, she noticed. How could she not?... The blouse shimmered like something dangerous, catching stray glances and holding them hostage. Every lingering look stoked jealousy, and the women would do anything... anything... to keep the men's focus on them. That was all part of the plan, because jealous women made careless choices, and careless choices revealed valuable information...

Upstairs, in the private bedrooms, with hidden cameras in every corner, capturing every angle, the real games played out. Champagne in crystal flutes, low music humming through the air, silk cushions scattered like temptation itself… Executives disappeared behind locked doors in pairs, sometimes trios, emerging later with flushed faces, dishevelled clothing and hair, and debts they didn’t yet understand. The cameras caught everything: the flash of silky French knickers as skirts were pulled up, the shimmer of satin camisoles sliding off shoulders as bodices fell, the curve of bare breasts tumbling free. Each image was another piece of leverage, filed away for future use.

By midnight, three contracts would be signed, two affairs would begin, and one career would quietly end.

And Hanna Beth? She would leave with every name, every secret, every weakness, gathered like jewels in the folds of the most dangerous weapon she owned... That low-cut teal satin blouse.

"Where's my love

The one for me

Somewhere too far

Not close enough for me to see

Where's My Love

Where could you be

Someone I knew but let slip through

I'm dreaming of you

Oh love, oh love come to me

Where's my love

Give me a clue

Give me a time

Show me a place

I might find you

Where's my love

Don't hide from me

I'll be good to you

I will, honestly

Oh love, oh love come to me"

I wanna a natural and purest love. It's not under an obligation or from matchmaker, not like a game or for fun... So that's why I still always keep myself to wait, wait and wait until I meet a person who has a match ordained by heaven...

[ P/S: Please, don't try to conpel me to be with anyone IF that person doesn't have predestined love tie with me... (T-T) ]

PERSONAL FUN FACT: In some ways you could say I took this doll for granted when I was younger. However, I did have the forethought to buy her, even though she wasn't a doll I could see myself playing with. I don't remember exactly what year she joined the collection--somewhere between 2003 and 2004. Dad used to take my sister and me to a large indoor flea market back then. In those days, it was at the peak of treasure hunting. Over the years, that flea market went downhill, until it eventually closed when I was an adult. Mulan was a true treasure to find. I got her with my Shining Braids Pocahontas one Sunday. Both were still sealed in their boxes and were affordable prices (I think they were pretty darn cheap too...like $10 each). I had slowly begun to buy more boxed dolls at that age. Of course, I wasn't keeping the dolls sealed in their packages. Rather, I would open them up and find a place for them on the shelves above my roll top desk. This Mulan never really had reason to get undressed like some of her other plastic friends. Her outfit wasn't versatile for play. It was fun seeing her every day, wearing a signature outfit from the film. I enjoyed her even more, however, as an adult collector. She is still to this day one of the signature pieces on my display. It worked in her favor that I didn't play with her as a kid. It helped her maintain an almost mint condition...unlike my childhood Hearts of Honor dolls! Although Mulan and Pocahontas randomly turned up, they were some of the most exciting finds I could have encountered. Mulan and Pocahontas have always been two of my favorite Disney movies. The merchandising for Mulan was far more limited than other films, so it felt extra special finding this Matchmaker Magic Mulan doll. Plus her concept was super unique--you could turn her from a regular girl into a woman who was looking for a suitor! This was one of my favorite scenes in the movie. Although I felt terrible for Mulan when she messed everything up, it was hilarious nonetheless.

Here's a picture of my customized Live Action matchmaker Mulan doll. The dress came with the doll, so the only customization that I did was adding the earrings, restyling her hair, repainting her lips, and adding the "comb" which is repainted doll tiara. The fun part of the customization was adding the face makeup which I did using actual eyeshsadow (color: vanilla) for the white powder base and an eye contouring palette for the yellow base, eyebrow color, and cheek blush (which I realized isn't the best color/ i wanted a redder color to look more accurate to the movie). The three red dashes I added with acrylic paint, and I finally sealed everything with sealant spray. Overall I'm happy with how she came out and I'm just happy to have a live action Mulan in her matchmaker look.

I still want to buy the animals of the movie, but at the moment this is the Mulan part.

I decided to unbox this doll at last. Her outfit would need some improvments here and there but she's a fairly nicely done doll. I really like her face.

Matchmaker mulan doll, found her on ebay, I loved this doll when I was little

One of Mattel's best dolls hands down! I love this Mulan doll, she looks spot on for her film counter-part and is highly detailed!

Using the powder puff you can wipe her face with warm water and change her make-up to look like the matchmaker, cool! The dress and accessories are really well made, I think most Disney fans would be very happy to own this version of Mulan - Especially if she's your fave princess : )

My New Disney Mulan Matchmaker Magic Mulan. She is Wonderful ;)

PERSONAL FUN FACT: Considering I was kind of young when I found this Mulan doll at the flea market, I managed to keep all her things. Plus, everything still looks mostly like new. She stayed on display mainly, even when I was a kid. Not that my shelves had any sensibility to them. I would just stick random dolls I deboxed from flea market trips on them, with an assortment of knick knacks also sharing the shelves. That's how Mulan's outfit stayed far more pristine though than the ensembles I did play with. I appreciate the versatility of her outfit. It's reversible, so you can act out the entire matchmaker scene from the movie. You can turn Mulan from a girl into a woman who is seeking a suitor. The only part of her outfit that does show a little wear and tear is her shawl. It's not picked at, but it doesn't lay wide open anymore. It's taken on this shriveled shape...although I could probably use a little starch to get it to fan out again. Her umbrella and powder puff are very unique additions to this doll. Sadly, the umbrella is just cardboard. I have to use elastics to get Mulan to securely hold this on display. I do think that she's missing one very crucial accessory...the cricket that helped mess up her matchmaking session! How else am I supposed to reenact the part of the movie when the cricket is using her tea cup as a spa, and she accidentally drinks him?!!

I know this looks cute now.. but they really freak me out !

After! I completely restored her! She's so great now! I made her blue waist thing and her shaw, and restyled her hair to the way it was originally! She didn't come with the red skirt. I got that a year ago in this huge Disney doll lot!

Immunologists can figure out what antigen a T cell responds to by sequencing the genes that code for the T cell receptor. A T cell receptor is made up of two proteins, each encoded by a separate gene. In the past, gene sequencing could only be done using thousands or millions of cells at a time, so it was impossible to match a T cell’s two receptor genes back together. Using newly developed techniques, researchers can now sequence the genes from many individual T cells simultaneously and keep track of T cell receptor gene pairs. This has allowed them to match T cell receptors to their antigens.

18 June 1983, Portsmouth: HMS Berwick (F115) was a Rothesay class anti-submarine frigate. She was built by Harland and Wolff and launched on 1 June 1961.

The ship was a member of the Matchmaker fleet in 1965. During the Beira Patrol, she stopped and arrested the SS Manuella for attempting to run the oil blockade of Rhodesia, Easter 1966. HMS Berwick was re-fitted with helicopter landing facilities in 1967.

In 1977, she attended the Silver Jubilee Fleet Review.

HMS Berwick was sunk as a target ship in August 1986 by a Tigerfish torpedo fired from the submarine HMS Tireless.

I'd be Grimmjow! I'm--He's, I mean, the coolest soul-eating hollow out there. He can fly, blow stuff up, and is really powerful. I know, he's only ranked #6 for most powerful hollow, but he's #1 in sword-fighting, brains, and looks. Grimmjow's the king! If only I was that badass. But at least I'm not a hero.

Don't ever let warm water touch this doll's face. Other wise it'll stay white for weeks!

I tried using cold water with no luck, so I just made everything white.

YUE LAO: THE MATCHMAKING GOD

Monday, March 2, 2015 | BY: SUN JIAHUI (孙佳慧)

You are destined to marry that person!

It doesn’t matter if the person in question is a friend or an enemy. They might be pretty/handsome, or hideously ugly. They could be healthy, or on death’s door. What really matters is whether your ankles are tied to theirs with a red string, invisible to human eyes.

What, you don’t agree?

In what is perhaps a personification of the concept of fate, Chinese traditional beliefs tell of a matchmaking god named Yue Lao (月老), which literally translates to “old man under the moon”, who was said to be in charge of all the marriages with his magic red strings. According to this tale, who you fall in love with was decided the moment you were born.

The character of Yue Lao originated from a story in The Sequel to the Collection of Mysteries, a book of mythology from the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD). The tale begins with young scholar Wei Gu, who one day decided to visit his friend in Qinghe. On the way, he stayed at an inn.

Another man, surnamed Zhang, who lived in the same area, heard that Wei was a bachelor, so with Wei’s consent he decided to arrange a meeting with a girl surnamed Pan, whose father was the former mayor of Qinghe. Wei and Zhang made an appointment to meet at the gate of a temple early the next day to inform Wei whether the girl was interested.

Wei awoke before sunrise to go and meet the matchmaker. But on his way there he met an old man with a white beard and hair, who was lying down on a bag and reading a book under the moon.

Wei took a glance at the book and surprisingly found that he couldn’t recognize even a single word.

He approached and asked what book it was. It was then that the old man told him that it was a magic book recording all the marriages in the human world.

Naturally, Wei was skeptical. So the old man took out some red strings from his bag and explained that people were all tied up with their partners as soon as they were born, no matter how far they lived from each other or how differently they were raised, and that they were all fated to eventually become husband and wife.

Wei’s first question was of course, who was destined to be his wife.

The old man laughed and said, “Your wife is only three years old now and will marry you at the age of 16.” He then led Wei to a nearby market, pointed at an old blind woman who was selling vegetables, and told Wei that the woman’s daughter would one day become his wife.

Wei felt insulted, because as an intellectual it was beneath him to marry a woman from the bottom rungs of society. In a rather harsh move, he ordered his groom to kill this girl. But the groom was too softhearted to hurt such an innocent little girl, so he just dropped his knife after pricking the girl on her forehead.

More than ten years later, Wei became a government official, but he was still single. All matchmaking attempts to find him a wife had failed, including the attempt with Pan.

Finally, his superior Wang Tai married his daughter to him. The couple lived a happy life, but Wei noticed that there was always a paper flower between his wife’s eyebrows, even when she slept. Wei asked why. His wife told him that the skin there had been pierced by a ruffian when she was three and the paper flower was to cover the scar.

Wei was shocked and then investigated the identity of his wife. It turned out that his wife was the girl he had seen in the market 13 years ago. The girl’s parents had both died at that time and the blind woman was her wet nurse. Later, the girl’s uncle Wang Tai found her and then adopted her as his daughter.

Listening to the story, Wei recalled the old man under the moon he had met that night. Since all he said had come true, Wei firmly believed that he had encountered the god who decides the fate of couples.

It is said that Wei talked so much about his story with Yue Lao that Yue Lao’s reputation spread far and wide. People then built temples for Yue Lao and prayed in front of his statue for good marriages. Gradually, Yue Lao became a graceful synonym for matchmaker, who played a very important role in ancient arranged marriages. Due to the fact that a marriage without a matchmaker was regarded as at least immoral even illegal, men and women were not supposed to meet each other before they got married officially, or it might become a scandal. So happy marriages largely depended on matchmakers, who were responsible for selecting the right partners for young people and served as the contacts between them. It is perhaps no wonder then that ancient people respected matchmakers like gods.
