Masters store located on the corner of North Lake Road and Phoenix Road - one of nine stores in Western Australia for the Woolworths-Lowes (USA) joint venture in hardware. Opened in mid 2012 it was located in a cutting partially obscured from the road opposite Adventure World theme park. Heavy losses against incumbent rival Bunnings in part due to an aggressive expansion (often next to Bunnings stores such as this one) and low sales have seen Woolworths abandon the category altogether and announce closure of the chain by early December 2016 with a liquidation sale starting August of the year. These shots were taken early in the closing down sale.
The stores (including several development sites) have been sold to Home Consortium who will reconfigure the sites to a combination of Spotlight, Anaconda, JB Hi Fi, The Good Guys and Woolworths supermarkets. Rival Bunnings will take over 15 of the 61 stores open. Liquidation is being carried out by the Great American Group with evidence seen in the large 'STORE CLOSING' and 'GOING OUT OF BUSINESS' signs more commonly seen in the closing of large stores in the United States.

Winner’s Speech:
How can we know a person with a picture? Is it really true seeing the “truth” that a picture shows? When people face the camera, they used to show their goodness and some “fakeness.” Public figures often show themselves through the camera. They naturally “become” the other people they are not really are to set up good images. We would quite doubt if the truth the picture shows is really true. I try to capture the truth which is hidden behind these famous people. I try to find out the other images that are different from the stereotypes. At the very moment of capturing these images, I saw them meditating and their joyful and soft feelings. I saw their other figures and truths which the fakeness is taken off. He/she is himself/herself, not the other he/she plays. The true images that one may not have known make me think of “epiphany” that I had had in old pictures. This is the eternity that I have always wanted to display for all of you.
I have previously posted a photograph of Osborne's former A.E.C "Renown" demonstrator, and here, on the same day and in virtually the same spot is their A.E.C. "Bridgemaster" demonstrator, 2211 MK. I always did like the "Bridgemaster", and I thought the upright front and heavy radiator grille, with the driver's side mudguard hidden under the bodywork, gave it a purposeful, almost aggressive, appearance.
The Masters is a big tradition at our house. I had 5 others over for a meal based on the champions dinner on Tuesday. This year it was steak, crab cakes and corn. The actual round was a bit anti-climatic as Trevor Immelman handled things pretty easily. Tiger couldn't make a putt.

so here's the master bedroom ceiling all drywalled up. honestly, the double tray is a bit...massive. I would have been happy with a single tray, but whatever.
NOT MY PHOTO...(just one of the billions of photos of the man who is today more famous than God. He might even be more famous than the Beatles...)
I was re-reading one of my favorite books, Patrick O'Brian's Master and Commander, and came to a place where Stephen Maturin was describing Donald Trump to Jack Aubrey: "Oh, he was a dull, ignorant, superficial, darting, foolish, prating creature in himself, to be sure, but I found him truly fascinating. The pure bourgeois in a state of social ferment. There was that typical costive, haemorrhoidal facies, the knock-knees, the drooping shoulders, the flat feet splayed out, the ill breath, the large staring eyes, the meek complacency; and, of course, you noticed that womanly insistence upon authority and beating once he was thoroughly drunk? I would wager that he is very nearly impotent."
OK...Stephen was actually describing Mr. Ellis, but it works brilliantly for The Donald... And for those unfamiliar with the Aubrey/Maturin books, Stephen Maturin is a surgeon -- that's why his description tends toward the anatomical...
This space is a renovation project that I designed and installed. All of the art was designed and fabricated by me...

Master Chief & Recon
Personal Project
My new friend Philip is a huge Halo fan, just like me. However, I think the fandom goes more in his favor, as he made this Master Chief suit out of paper.
Paper. He made it out of paper.
It's incredible to see in person, and when he sent me a snapshot of it, I knew I had to photograph it.
This is personal work, much like the Legend of Zelda and Wolverine series' I did over the last few years.
I had a total blast making these images.

Adding to my collection of the rare Visa and Master Charge combination of window stickers. BankAmericard renamed itself Visa in 1976 and Master Charge became Master Card in 1979, leaving a three-year time frame for this combination of stickers to appear.
This is the fifth time I've found this combination (and second time on this particular trip). The other locations are:
And a storefront in Poughkeepsie had the BankAmericard/Master Charge combo but I believe that is now gone.
