Maschine war ursprünglich für Passagiere unterwegs. Nun wurde sie zum Frachter umgebaut.
The machine was originally intended for passengers. Now she has been converted into a freighter.
Das auffällige Gebäude des Strömungskanals, offiziell "Umlauftank 2" der TU Berlin, steht seit dem Jahr 1974 auf einer Kanalinsel im Tiergarten. Von Architekt Ludwig Leo wurde der Umlauftank nicht nur als Funktionsbau, sondern als Schnittpunkt zwischen Architektur, Industrie, Wissenschaft und Maschine geplant. Nachdem der Umlauftank viele Jahre im Dornröschenschlaf lag, wurde im Herbst 2017 die denkmalgerechte Sanierung abgeschlossen. Seitdem erstrahlt der Bau wieder in seinen Originalfarben: Rosa Röhren und ein blauer Kasten. Die rosa Umlaufrohre befinden sich außerhalb des Laborgebäudes und sind dadurch gut sichtbar. Der Innenraum der Laborhalle ist ebenfalls im Baustil der 70er gehalten und folgt einem konstanten Farbschema. Bis heute wird der Umlauftank von der Technischen Universität für wissenschaftliche Versuche genutzt, wobei Schiffsmodelle im Strömungskanal getestet werden. Das Umlaufrohr ist insgesamt 55 Meter lang und hat an der größten Stelle einen Durchmesser von 8 Metern. Es fasst insgesamt 3300 Kubikmeter Wasser, die von einem 3,5 Meter großen Propeller bewegt werden. Das blaue Laborgebäude ist 18 Meter hoch und hat fünf Stockwerke, in denen sich die Laborhalle, Prüfstände und Büros befinden. Die Messstrecke liegt offen auf dem zweiten Deck des Laborgebäudes und ist von allen Stockwerken aus sichtbar.
The striking building of the flow channel, officially "Umlauftank 2" "Circulation Tank 2" of the Berlin University of Technology, has been standing on a canal island in the Tiergarten since 1974. It was planned by architect Ludwig Leo not only as a functional building, but as an intersection between architecture, industry, science and machine. After lying dormant for many years, the renovation of the Circulation Tank was completed in autumn 2017 in keeping with its status as a listed building. Since then, the building has shone again in its original colours: pink circulation tubes and a blue box. The pink circulation tubes are located outside the laboratory building and are thus clearly visible. The interior of the laboratory hall is also kept in the architectural style of the 70s and follows a constant colour scheme. To this day, the circulation tank is used by the University of Technology for scientific experiments, with ship models being tested in the flow channel. The circulation pipe is 55 metres long in total and has a diameter of 8 metres at its largest point. It holds a total of 3300 cubic metres of water, which is moved by a 3.5-metre propeller. The blue laboratory building is 18 metres high and has five floors containing the laboratory hall, test stands and offices. The measuring track is openly located on the second deck of the laboratory building and is visible from all floors.

Well, here's my entry for BLaB's Ma.K Like a Boss building contest! I couldn't really think of what to build, until I saw my Batman minifig sitting on my shelf. Then it clicked. I would build a mecha Batmobile. So, here is the product of my labor!

-Smoke bomb cannon (Batman don't use guns buddy)

-A Bat-SAFS (why not?)

This is a detail view of a giant machine for the industrial production of matches. It's on display in the Swiss Match Museum ('Schweizerisches Zündholzmuseum') in Schönenwerd.
Das Bild zeigt eine sehr frühe Lokomotive mit Verbrennungsmotor. Gebaut wurde sie im Jahr 1912 für den Sprengstoffhersteller "Dynamit AG, vormals Alfred Nobel & Co" in Schlebusch (heute Stadtteil von Leverkusen). Gebaut wurde die kleine Maschine von der Gasmotoren-Fabrik Deutz. Der Erstbesitzer verkaufte das Fahrzeug an das Unternehmen Möhl & Co. In Köln-Dellbrück. Dort erwies sich die Spillanlage, mit der die Lokomotive ausgestattet ist, als besonders nützlich. Denn mit Hilfe dieser Vorrichtung konnte man über ein Drahtseil Güterwagen auf einem anderen Gleis bewegen - selbst dann, wenn dieses Gleis zum Beispiel in einer Fabrikationshalle im rechten Winkel zur Fahrtrichtung der Lokomotive angeordnet war. Die Firma Möhl & Co. schenkte das Gefährt im Jahr 1969 dem Eisenbahnmuseum Bochum.
Der Petroleummotor der Lok lässt sich auch mit Benzol, Petroleum, Benzin oder Spiritus betreiben. Er zaubert aus gigantischen 18 Litern Hubraum eine Leistung von 30 bis 40 PS. Damit erreicht die Maschine eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 5 bzw. 15 km/h - je nach dem, welcher der beiden Gänge eingelegt ist.
English translation:
The picture shows a very early locomotive with a combustion engine. It was built in 1912 for the explosives manufacturer "Dynamit AG, formerly Alfred Nobel & Co" in Schlebusch (today a district of Leverkusen). The small machine was built by the Deutz gas engine factory. The first owner sold the vehicle to the company Möhl & Co. in Cologne-Dellbrück. The capstan system with which the locomotive is equipped proved to be particularly useful there. With the help of this device, freight cars could be moved on another track using a wire rope - even if this track was arranged at a right angle to the direction of travel of the locomotive, for example in a production hall. The Möhl & Co. company donated the vehicle to the Bochum Railway Museum in 1969.
The locomotive's engine can be operated with different fuels like paraffin oil, benzene, petroleum, petrol or spirit. It conjures up an output of 30 to 40 hp from a gigantic 18 liter displacement. This allows the machine to reach a top speed of 5 or 15 km/h - depending on which of the two gears is engaged.
