Temple of Hercules (a.k.a. the Great Temple of Amman) was built during the the reign of the Emperor Marcus Aurelius (161-180 AD) over ruins of an ancient temple dedicated to Ammonite god Melkom. The tales say that the statue of Hercules inside the temple was some 9 meter high.

the bronze statue of Marcus Aurelius that is in the centre of Capitoline Hill. Originally it was thought to be of Emperor Constantine, but they realised shortly before it was moved to Capitoline Hill that it was actually Marcus Aurelius. The Pope refused to believe it though. ;)
