Apollo 50th Anniversary Celebration
National Air and Space Museum Recreates Launch of Apollo 11 on Washington Monument With Historic Projection-Mapping Program
Throughout 2019, the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo missions and help lead the national celebration of the first moon landing July 20, 1969.
The Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum will present a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 this July in partnership with the U.S. Department of the Interior and 59 Productions. For three nights—July 16, 17 and 18—a full-sized, 363-foot Saturn V rocket will be projected onto the east face of the Washington Monument from 9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. On Friday, July 19, and Saturday, July 20, a special 17-minute show, “Apollo 50: Go for the Moon” will combine full-motion projection-mapping artwork on the monument and archival footage on screens to recreate the launch of Apollo 11 and tell the story of the first moon landing.

Abr. 05, 2022. Image generated by mapping an audio signal to RGB channels along a space-filling curve. Three low-frequency signals produced by using an FFT as a bandpass filter were written to each channel. The ratios between the signals were those of a major triad in just intonation (1, 5:4, 3:2). The signals were stepped through a chromatic scale, yielding seven useful images (some did not yield the desired range of colors). The seven images were processed further using statistical functions.

This was a project I did embroidering with wool on plastic window screen material. It is meant to depict the changes in open, green space in the Detroit metro area. It's not a very exact depiction of that, but I did my best by using maps of census tracts, and assuming that where there was low population density, there'd be more green space. This is a close up of the square that represents 1940. My other pics came out poorly, so this is the only one I'm showing. Also, I plan to re-do this project in the future, using GIS and better data.
Drone mapping and surveying is a great way to access the development and diagnose issue which can arise so that your work goes smoothly. For this, you should best services and therefore contact them. They use high quality camera and have experienced team which will provide you with quality footage.
This is a picture of the elevator buttons (up or down) in the Ford Building. I think this is an example of good mapping because the controls are properly organized. There are only three buttons: one is red and is clear that it is for emergencies; the remaining two buttons are positioned in a way that it is very intuitive to figure out which button is UP and which is DOWN, even in the absence of labels or arrows. The upper button corresponds to going up and the lower button corresponds to going down.
Roman Cologne
We saw a number of these dig sites scattered throughout the city.
It was interesting to watch all the goings on down in the holes. Unfortunately we didn't have a whole lot of time so I snapped a few quick pics and we moved on.
if you look closely at the clip board you can see that they are carefully mapping all of the ancient foundations and what not that they have uncovered.
The first urban settlement on the grounds of what today is the centre of Cologne was Oppidum Ubiorum, which was founded in 38 BC by the Ubii, a Germanic tribe. Cologne became acknowledged as a city by the Romans in 50 AD by the name of Colonia Claudia Ara Agrippinensium. Considerable Roman remains can be found in contemporary Cologne.

Mapping Freedom
After the Civil War, African Americans joined the United States Army in hopes of making a decent living. This new freedom coincided with government efforts to relocate American Indians throughout the west. Often camping here at Rattlesnake Springs, the 10th Cavalry Unit, “Buffalo Soldiers,” pursued the Mescalero Apache into the nearby Guadalupe Mountains. Between skirmishes with the Mescalero, the 10th Cavalry Unit surveyed huge expanses of territory, making maps that significantly contributed to American westward expansion.
