Devoted to the sonic mapping of the shore of the Adriatic Sea, this event offers audiences a chance to immerse themselves in the under/above water soundscapes of the historic landmark where they had been sent out torpedoes, which is connected with the identity of Rijeka. The workshop aims to introduce participants to the sonic mapping of coastal regions. It will also include a practical in situ lecture/presentation about the disturbing human presence in underwater acoustics and other experiences, as well as listening to the bioacoustics of aquatic environments above and under the waves at the shores. Both mentors will share their expertise in sound recording, location-based sonic mapping and above /underwater soundscapes.
Ivo Vičić is a sound recordist, wildlife sound recordist and music producer from Rijeka. He has been recording natural sounds for many years now and his portfolio includes sounds for: documentaries, ambient music, art installations, sound backgrounds, radio broadcasting, sound FX, etc. He is also an on location sound recordist on demand. In his pursuit for the new sounds he experiments with structure borne sound and underwater sound as well. Many of his field recordings are included in British library catalogue, museums, educative centers in National parks etc.
Robertina Šebjanič is an artist/researcher from Ljubljana whose work explores the biological, (geo)political, and cultural realities of aquatic environments and the impact of humanity on other organisms. In her analysis of the Anthropocene and its theoretical framework, the artist uses the terms “aquatocene” and “aquaforming” to refer to the human impact on aquatic environments. Her work received several awards and nominations at Prix Ars Electronica, Starts Prize, Falling Walls, Re:Humanism a.o.

In the framework of the MADE IN – Platform for Contemporary Crafts and Design, the fifth edition of the AND Fair: Abandon Normal Devices (Sajam 3N: Napusti normalne naprave) took place in Rijeka on April 19th and 20th, featuring an intriguing showcase of various devices and objects by Radiona association from Zagreb, and collectives Cirkulacija2 and BridA from Slovenia, along with a rich program of workshops for both children and adults.

Pour cette 18e edition, un dome high-tech se dressera sur le pietonnier. Dans cette installation surprenante, performances audiovisuelles a 360°, films, concerts et activites pour les familles scelleront le mariage entre les arts visuels et sonores et les nouvelles technologies proposant une experience immersive unique.
Pour sublimer les facades de l'eglise Sainte-Catherine et du Viage, deux video-mappings feront la part belle a la creativite audiovisuelle, transformant les batiments en oeuvres d'art mouvantes.
Et de voyage virtuel il sera egalement question a la rue Orts ou la Finlande deposera ses maisonnettes en bois pour nous faire decouvrir son univers enchanteur a travers un tourbillon d'acitivites feeriques.
Meme le vrai Pere Noel et les Schtroumpfs seront de la partie le temps de quelques heures !
A l'image de Bruxelles, ce melange harmonieux entre tradition et innovations fait la force et l'unicite des Plaisirs d'Hiver, un des evenements les plus prises d'Europe, soulignant ainsi la grande attractivite de la capitale.
