I took this photo last fall in Left Hand Fork Canyon of the Cache National Forest. This isn't a very good picture; however, I really like the colors.

Mapleleaf viburnum is a small understory shrub restricted to high quality mesic forests.

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Midwest Regional Director, Tom Melius, holds up an endangered winged mapleleaf mussel. The mussel was found during a routine check of underwater lines in the St. Croix River.
