Pretty much sooc (except for basic raw edits) -- I just loved the soft light on these leaves. You'd have no idea this was the middle of the day.
A japanese maple has retained most of it's beautiful orange fall leaves due to planting in a walled garden
On the way home from a shopping trip I picked up this maple leaf. It's a symbol of our country and a reminder that our Thanksgiving Day (October 8) is almost upon us, and a good time to reflect on the blessings we Canadians have. It's a time too, to count our personal blessings: good health, good friends, modest wealth, and a future which looks promising. Winter may be on its way, but this colourful leaf somehow brightens our time before the snow flies.

I was so lucky to be able to capture many different perspectives on the Yosemite sugar maple this year. Many leaves were completely orange, some nearly red, others pure gold or yellow. A number of them had this mixed coloration and really stood out. Lighting was so interesting the entire time I spent beneath this gorgeous tree, but this backlit leaf is one of my favorites from the series.
