A map that's up on the back of my door reminding me of what wonders I have to look forward to. Around it are quotes I have came upon. My favorite is "the world is like book, if you don't travel you only read one page".
My flat mate's turtle, put it together in 15 min. From taking the picture to editing it and uploading it.

Washington DC tourist maps are great. They give you a nice idea of how long it'll take you to walk somewhere. Even more importantly, they tell you in what direction you're facing.
