For this piece I used the journey that it takes my family to travel from our house in MD, to our shore house in NJ. I mapped out the routes that are possible and then used the lines and turns to create abstracted shapes out of the metals.

Developing a base map using 2012 aerial imagery and LiDAR elevation data. Since this area straddles KY/VA state boundary, I had to tile together datasets with different temporal and spatial resolutions. The crest of the mountain uses a 5-foot DEM resolution.

Gampul is where the trail into the Tsum Valley splits off from the Manaslu Circuit. We spent the next week in Tsum.
