Ahh, summer camp. For some of us this was a staple of our childhood, and it is definitely one for my children. I haven't been posting often because we have been away for weeks at our church campground on Lake Ontario. This is the road leading out of the campgrounds, the beginning of the nearly four hour drive home. Looking in the rearview mirror you can already see the heads drooping in the back seats as the "camp adrenaline" wears off and exhausted teens and children start falling asleep. It's the long road home, and the cementing of yet another round of memories.

I saw a really imposing storm cloud system heading over the road near my home and debated how to capture it in a visually interesting way. I finally settled on using a tripod and shooting a long exposure. The approaching cars provided both illumination for the road surface along with a visually arresting foreground element to compliment the brooding sky. I really liked the end result I got here - and this shot is my first share from the just announced Zeiss Milvus Distagon T* 18mm f/2.8 lens. I've previewed it here: bit.ly/2cofpZh and have an image gallery from it going here: bit.ly/2csoGhc My final review will come in a couple of weeks.

The man who repaired and revived many of my vintage lenses deserves to be in one of my photos.

Voightlander 28mm manual focus lens. You never know what you might find when you walk in the streets. I saw this unique scene in Philly and later found that a vandal had shattered the glass and the owner of the shoe store fashioned a shoe to fill the hole.

A visit back to a beautiful barn in Alberta, but the star here is the fabulous wispy clouds in the wide open blue skies. I paused on this shot until the gull flew into the zone that I wanted it in, and really liked that little additional detail when I reviewed the image. Here in Ontario we've seen a lot of rain and grey skies so far this spring, so this bright, summery image is a great antidote for more grey!

Those times when you have an idea cooking in your mind but it just won't come to fruition as quick as you would like, the frustration, paralysis, indecision, and restlessness you feel. Anywhere you sit , feels like the same chair, pacing the house or studio just looking and waiting for the idea to finish itself up so you can create it here.
A place where your ideas go to sit, bounce around and come together.
Ive had non creative people ask me to describe what it actually feels like , I did but it didn't really hit home when it landed.. So I decided on doing this instead.. This photo is what it feels like, inside.
The image is a single exposure, no photoshop or AI funny business.
