South Manitou Island and its lighthouse as seen from Pyramid Point. Other than adjusting the lighting on this one, the colors are as seen. (The spring green on the island in the morning sun really came out strong.)
What I thought unusual is the fact that you can see the peaks of several dunes on the island. Maybe those that have been there a lot can tell us more.
Best LARGE! Somehow I'd never climbed Pyramid Point before. The view is--well, judge for yourself.
All the land in view is part of the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore. South Manitou Island to the left, & North Manitou to the right. Manitou Passage Light is visible out in the channel.
A Manhattan-bound train of Shoreliners zooms by the marsh at Manitou. A few years ago, I saw a huge snapping turtle in these very waters.
