Once visitors reached the summit of Pike's Peak, they were eager to have it documented and no doubt saved the photograph for years afterwards. This particular photograph was once part of an album. On the Camp Smith Trail. Looking south from Manitou Mountain, a view of Dunderberg Mountain of the Hudson Highlands and Peekskill Bay. Further away, Hook Mountain and High Tor can be seen. Interestingly, as the Hudson River exits the Hudson Highlands region, which is where the river reaches its deepest point at World's End, it flows into its widest point of the river at Haverstraw Bay at over 3 miles in width. Just south of the Hudson Highlands.
